| This is a very exciting contest that we've got going on for this week. Veronica Mars!! Everybody's favorite teenage detective may not be on TV anymore, but that doesn't mean you have to deprive yourself of some snarky noir action. BuddyTV is giving away two copies of the third season of Veronica Mars. The third season had two small mystery arcs, the first one involving the Hearst College rapist, and the second one a whodunnit involving Dean O'Dell's murder, plus five standalone episodes. There are a ton of extras in this six-disc set, including the video used by Rob Thomas & co. to pitch a fourth season of the show, in which Veronica Mars goes to the FBI. To enter the contest, reply to this thread with your idea for a third short mystery arc that would replace the five standalone episodes at the end of the third season. One winner will be selected based on the best answer. The other winner will be selected randomly. You have until Tuesday, December 18 at 11:59am ET/8:59am PT to reply. The thread will be closed at that time, and the winners will be announced shortly thereafter. Good luck to all! ![]() Last edited by BuddyDebbie : 12-11-2007 at 02:21 PM. |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | Okay so here we go. I so want to win this!! *cracks her knuckles* Okay, so I'm not sure if you want this to be FBI Veronica Mars, or College Hearst Student Veronica Mars, I'll just have to do both. FBI: If we're going to take the series into the future this far, I'd like to see a call back to earlier Veronica days. This isn't so much for mystery arch as for general feel of the show, but I'd like to see Veronica once again as the leper girl. Maybe she solves a case first or maybe she gets a partner in trouble, something so we can have our isolated Veronica. I think that was one thing that really drew me initially to the show was just how much of an outcast she was and how she delt with it. As for the story arch, I'm going to say I'd like to see Veronica Mars VS the Bay Harbor Butcher. Okay, so while not exactly original, I don't care. I didn't see last week's episode of Dexter yet, but lets say Lundy's team of suits also included a little blonde spitfire. Veronica VS Deborah cage match anyone? I could see her zeroing in on Dexter and what he does like a shark smells blood in the water. Hee. Okay, as for college Veronica, I'd like to see something with Lianne. I think specifically I'd like to see her dead. No I'm not that vindictive, but it seems to me there was a lot of unfinished business between Veronica and her mother. Finding out that this person who she loved growing up and who betrayed her when she needed her the most, was dead, would be heartbreaking to say the least. Pain and guilty relief mixed in together. I could see Veronica barley dealing with this, putting on her usual bravado and moving through life and through the case like it was a normal business day. If Keith was in jail for what happened at the end of season 3, I think the news would be even harder on Veronica to take. Her father was her single man support system, without him I could see her falling apart over this. She has friends and people who care about her, but she doesn't let very many of them past her walls she's built up. Even Wallace isn't always brought in on the inner most thoughts of Veronica Mars. I could see a build in Veronica of her pushing her feelings aside and working to solve the case until she hits her boiling point and it all just comes out. Her love and her hatred for her mother all mixed into one explosive outburst. After that, I could see her steeling herself for the case, and going in head first to solve it, not caring what kind of mess she leaves in her wake. A sort of kamakazi mission to solve the murder, breaking the rules and getting herself in reckless situations until things finally come to a head and she figured out what the hell happened to her mom.

| Ooh! Can't wait to read all of your responses! Don't forget that one of the DVDs goes to a randomly selected winner, so you don't necessarily need a masterpiece to win. |

| My humble entry to this contest: I think that I would have liked a story where they delve more into the relationship that Mack and Beaver had before he died. Not so much for all the drama, but to pull another mystery out of it. Maybe Beaver left Mack a message before he died about some kind of conspiracy that was going on or maybe about a secret organization that he found out about. I think that would be interesting as well as a good reason to give Veronica a "sidekick" during this story arc. I think the best episodes were the ones where she solved cases with Mack or Wallace helping. |
