Yup VirtualDub is teh way to go. Any demuxer really.

yeah i tried that but it wont open my files..it says that they cant be opened any idea how to open the file then the file is: .hdtv.xvid-xor.[VTV] and its not opening with that, any ideas?

What format and encoding is the original movie in?

Hmm actually you might want to try VirtualDubMod which has greater functionality and supports more formats.
