I would also recommend the Harry Potter books...and the Chronicles of Narnia...good interesting fast reads I thought.

I haven't read it personally, but The Stand is a great movie and Steven King novel.

The Life Of Pi by Yann Martel was a really good book as far as i remember...whoever would have thought you could write a whole book about a boy and some animals in a small boat at sea.

At this time i'm just reading "Ocean Sea" by Alessandro Baricco (1993) The story is a kind of tragic whimsy, an eccentric group of odd characters in a mysterious Seaside Inn. Masterpiece, for now ...

Hmm....I can't say that I have a favorite, I have read nearly all of them and enjoyed them all immensely!

The few I read seemed a lot alike; that is why I did not pick up more...so, is it safe to say they are not the same plot line with different characters? That is what I thought was going on but I did not give a fair sampling.

They are most definitely not the same plot line. Some of the books are pretty similar; I know I get them confused sometimes.
