ok just read this on a footy website and had to post it ...

"...Watching Germany/Costa Rica here in the States with the better half, when the TV commentator makes a mention of the "12th Man":

She: What did he mean, 12th man? I thought there were 11 players?
Me: There are only 11 players.
She: I only see 10.
Me: Including the keeper?
She: Oh... so who is the 12th man? One of the substitutes?
Me: It's a term for the home fans.
(5 seconds of silence)
She: So how do they choose what fan gets to play? Is it random or did they win a contest?

This is the worst offciated world cup

EVER

Croatia had a player with 3 yellow cards in one game.
South Korea got hosed on the second goal when the linesman held up his flag......yet the ref allowed the play to continue.
Oh and anyone remember the phantom foul in the US game for that PK?

And there are far too many cards being issued. TONE DOWN ON THE BOOKINGS!

We'll see how Spain will do in the next Round. Today germany will have to beat Sweden in order to get to the quater final.

Also agreeing with the whole 'referees have been a bit crap' line of thought. Especially the English ref, dear god, what was he playing at?
