Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles should probably be a major disappointment. You don't just take a billion dollar franchise known for some of the greatest action ever put on film, completely discredit the plot of one of the movies (Terminator 3), recast the protector Terminator by replacing Arnold Schwarzenegger with a pint-sized girl from Texas (Summer Glau), turn John Connor into an angst-y teenager, make the action scenes work on a television budget and expect to create a worthwhile addition to the world of Terminator. But, somehow, FOX did. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles succeeds, surprisingly so, and the reason is simple: they stuck to what made the movies so good. Solid characters, a clear, un-cluttered sci-fi story, and good action. I've seen people roll their eyes at the Sarah Connor Chronicles commercials, not because they don't like the Terminator movies (who doesn't?) or because the promotions are poor (they're OK), but because Sarah Connor feels like a shameless attempt to squeeze more out of a franchise whose best days lay over a decade ago. However, viewers will be pleasantly surprised by what they get from tonight's premiere of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It's a well-executed continuation of the series, punctuated by the best action you'll find on network TV, an attractive cast and satisfying sci-fi storytelling. To read the rest, click here.

I was the one person that did not see this from the interwebs. My Wife and I thought it was pretty entertaining and we're looking forward to tomorrow. It really could be worse (like T3).

See, I'm one of those people who really enjoyed T3. The action was awesome, and I actually thought the ending was pretty cool.

I thought it was ok and will watch for a few more episodes and see if the plot develops, the storyline seems a bit over-used and over the top.

I like this show more and more as I think about it. Great action, a great story that conforms to the movies, and Summer Glau kicking butt. What more could you ask for? It's not a great, award-winning series, but it's fun, and there aren't a whole lot of shows like that on TV.

Even though i dislike (hate) Lena with an American accent, I think she pulls it off very well. I didn't hear any of her Brit come through and IMHO does a better job than some other actors. Lena kicked a** and this is gonna be a great series. Lena's my hero and is a hell of a lot hotter than Summer.... no offense.

I thought it was stupendous. It brings conventional sci fi back to broadcast TV. I love heroes and Lost, but this is actually much more traditional action-adventure sci-fi. Three people week-to-week fighting an army of robots from the future. Great stuff!

I thought it was really great as well. I got a kick out of the way everyone just kept pulling out bigger and bigger guns to shoot each other with, until the nuclear gun and the time jump. Neat effect. There were great action sequences, and I loved the continuity with the movies. The only thing I would change, maybe, is to make the cast a bit more attractive, but then, I am kind of superficial this way.
