If I didn't love my current sig so much I'd ask helps to make one that said: "The use of masked profanities will get you banned from The CW Lounge" ![]() I have many charming and endearing qualities, I know http://lounge.cwtv.com/showthread.php?t=463612 (second post) I guess you were wrong there, Cookie. But again, so glad you are here now.

| Awwww! *sniffy sniffle* You girls are so sweet!! THAAANK YOOOU!! Ya know what, I really have had some rather unpleasant message board experiences, it's true. It can happen pretty easily, as you can't see one's expression or hear their tone of voice, therefore, there's a higher potential for misunderstanding. Especially when you're as sarcastic as I am! And as much of a blabbermouth as I am. (Online. If you met me in person, you'd probably be shocked at how quiet I am . . . until you got to know me!) Also, some people are extremely over sensitive and easily offended. And some have a large chip on their shoulder. And, like anyone else, I certainly sometimes express myself poorly. So, yep. There has been some "trauma," if ya will! I love it here, though! AWwwwwwww! OK, horribly profane or not, my donkey shooting days are officially over! That was adorable!!! I'm sorry to cofess, though, that adult donkeys can be truly annoying. The noises they make are atrocious. I'm a country girl, I'd know! And, by the way, I do not talk like the people in that video, in case anyone was wondering! They've got way more twang! |

I think when Misha did the auction he already was doing overtime. It must be exhausting to play the clown up there. And his exhaustion showed, because he did subsequently answer 2 or 3 questions seriously. Poor Misha! Quote:

| From a Mod point of view, as I have experience here... you have to strike a good balance as regards all this on forums as public as these... It is totally futile and unfair to ban a user for using words in context that are already used in the show.... however, as a Mod, speaking for the rest of the Mod team, we do have to come down harder on those who use profanities just for the sake of it.... Boards are nicer clean of swear words and profanities that some, particularly, our younger users might read.... My own nearly ten year old comes in here with me from time to time to read various articles and comments... I am glad he doesn't have to read a mass of swear words... etc... Kids are so much better at remembering and reusing all the bad words then a mass of new innocent words in their vocab!!! Anyway.... as regards use of various words on these threads... as long as they are in line with show and are not offensive to anyone... let's face it though.... if Dean himself uses the words, and you are still tuning in to the show... then therefore, it's obviously not a big issue here!!! For the record though, I think Castiel has a worse mouth on him for the 'baddie' words.... Being a Mod on this forum, I am not here to diss the job done by another Mod or two on another forum... for the most part, they are only like you and me... ones who are just users on a site, who help out without pay etc... some get on with it and just do it, without letting the role go to their heads.... We have a great bunch of users on these SPN threads.... they are well managed by all and there is a high level of fun, yet on point serious discussions on here too.... therefore there is also a good level of respect for all on here... We have no problem welcoming in newbies.... after all, the more the merrier!!! It makes my job so much easier moderating these threads....as believe it or not, I also have about a half dozen other areas on this site that I also keep an eye on... as do the rest of the main Mods... this is one area, I have to say is a job to moderate... I rarely, if ever have to do any nasty Mod work on it!!! So thank you all!!!! Anyway, back to other forums... particularly CW forums.... I go on there as an ordinary user from time to time... I find the threads very cluttered and very negative at times.... There are many breakaway clicky groups that don't seem to have much time for welcoming anybody new in there... sorry... just an observation here folks... Whilst the subject matter in the more serious threads, once you first wade thru the 50,000 I love Dean/Sam threads.... is usually very good, sometimes it's way too on topic.... therefore not giving it's users enough time to build up any relationships with their fellow users.... my impression is also honestly one of 'why don't more people praise or even give a thumbup to their fellow users comments.... I have read some absolute crackers of posts on there go totally uncommented on so therefore not giving as much fluency to actual threads... Everytime, I venture in there, I seem to come across another side discussion about some misunderstood area of how forum is run.... I was on there a full three weeks before I even came across the general direction of where the rules were posted.... I suppose that's just me.... I am not a technical person.... I don't tend to seek out the hard bits/programmes etc... on my computer.... I like it all to be easy to use on this thing... but I am sure I am not alone on that one.... Anyway... that is there... this is here.... Just keep posting as you have already been doing.... keep it both light and serious.... in good measures.... keep respect for one another... keep also welcoming in the newbies.... keep contacting me (or indeed any of the other Mods), by whatever means necessary, if you need any help etc... keep watching the show....and most importantly.... keep having fun!!! .......and therefore ..... you all won't have to see a new character more serious then Lucifer appear on here... in the form of 'SMILEY RISING!!!!' ROFL...... Muhahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Have a good day all..... I'm off now to skin some of the local cats alive before I settle down to a lunch of termites.... Ahhh dammit.... why can't I do evil??? I just can't...... ![]()

| smiley, thank you for that "state of the nation" speech. Seriously, I mostly agree with you. It's a happy concidence that a nice bunch of people have found each other in this SPN section. Although to be honest, a big number of the nice bunch originally met in the PB section. So SPN can't take all the credit for having the best, most reasonable and mature fans on here. Quote:
And obviously someone in the SPN writing team agrees with me! I can't really say anything about how it's like on other sections of BTV. Only that I made some posts over at the Lost section, but people don't generally seem all that welcoming of new people over there either, so I gave up on it pretty quickly. In defense of CW lounge, I did find the rules immediately. But reading through them indicates that it's a no fun board. To be fair BTV probably has similar rules (it's been a long while since I've read them) about being off topic etc. but since they aren't exercised so strictly it leaves, like you said smiley, room for building actual friendships. Hey, why is everyone dissing the "Sam girl/Dean girl" discussions? This is a vital question for each SPN fan! Let me take this opportunity, smileyone, to give you a heartfelt thanks for the great job you are doing as a mod on here! (You seem to have mastered all the mod power buttons! Also Drama, did the new colleague help you in your desicion to become a mod again? (I wasn't hallucinating, you took a break from modding for a while, didn't you?)
