Are you implying that I am being really nosy ? I am hurt and shocked by this assumption. I am from this point on taking my toys and going home to my mommy. I do not have to take this kind of verbal abuse, and I have really, really good toys too so it's your loss Smiley! If you need me I will from now on be in one of my own sections where the Mod isn't so terribly mean ..hehe.
LMAO..... Ahhh you Nana Noodle!!! I was referring to us as a team... finding more out about this one not implying you were nosey!!! I already know about this story.... all about fish, apparently.... so funny..... LOL!!! You should come back you know..... cause these are the forums to be in.... yep, the happening place to be..... where the mad and insane all hang out without fear.....

Sadly, I too must leave you all now for a bit as I have to do that other stupid four letter word we call WORK!!!!! I wish I could mask that one so easily.....
Chat to you all later....

Btw.... I got a Ken doll that if you use some imagination, kind of looks like Jensen.... so what you got that trumps that one?????

I knew you love us. sticks ..lmao.. I really like this one.. xD nicely said sis...
Oooh and what does mean this last word? ASS? Can you please explain it? I'm too young and too innocent! :P

in the first few days you were here you were always apologizing for a) making such long posts and b) stating your opinon and c) terrified of being off topic.
Yeees. You were totally like one of those poor abused animals from the shelter. Just sitting in the corner, all shaking, scared for every word you said, being sorry for everything, lol. And You still apologize for long posts....
You really had to have a hard time on CW forum,lol...

That's a very fitting comparison. Each time you were being sarcastic you cowered shivering in a corner, waiting to be banned any second. Despite our assurances that being off topic and using profanities, masked or otherwise, in a sensible way, like quoting characters won't even get mods to bat an eyelid here. I'm so glad you overcame that fear.

If I didn't love my current sig so much I'd ask helps to make one that said: "The use of masked profanities will get you banned from The CW Lounge"

I have many charming and endearing qualities, I know , and one of them is my curiosity. which made me check out the CW Lounge. And look what I've found:

Awwww! *sniffy sniffle* You girls are so sweet!! THAAANK YOOOU!! Ya know what, I really have had some rather unpleasant message board experiences, it's true. It can happen pretty easily, as you can't see one's expression or hear their tone of voice, therefore, there's a higher potential for misunderstanding. Especially when you're as sarcastic as I am! And as much of a blabbermouth as I am. (Online. If you met me in person, you'd probably be shocked at how quiet I am . . . until you got to know me!) Also, some people are extremely over sensitive and easily offended. And some have a large chip on their shoulder. And, like anyone else, I certainly sometimes express myself poorly. So, yep. There has been some "trauma," if ya will! I love it here, though!

AWwwwwwww! OK, horribly profane or not, my donkey shooting days are officially over! That was adorable!!! I'm sorry to cofess, though, that adult donkeys can be truly annoying. The noises they make are atrocious. I'm a country girl, I'd know!

And, by the way, I do not talk like the people in that video, in case anyone was wondering! They've got way more twang!

NO, about liking it there!

I think when Misha did the auction he already was doing overtime. It must be exhausting to play the clown up there. And his exhaustion showed, because he did subsequently answer 2 or 3 questions seriously. Poor Misha!

Girls, I am going to bad now. Wish me luck, maybe I'll have dream involved either one of the Js or M.

Well, once upon a time, on a dark and stormy night, ExtraCookie decided to make a post at the CW Lounge. Unaware of just how picky their strange censorship rules were (because, if they're posted in detail anywhere, she has yet to find them), she quoted Dean's line, "You got ass-reamed in heaven, but it was 'not of import?!'" But, knowing enough to know she couldn't, in fact, use the word that simply means "donkey" or "buttocks," (which are, of course, two very offensive things, indeed! I know I get outraged every time I see a donkey or buttocks of any kind!! My heavens, yes! ) she typed the word "bass" (which is a fish, or a type of guitar, or singing term) instead. That way, she was substituting something inoffensive for something that, of course WAS, and yet would indicate to readers that she did know what the actual quote was. Little did she know that this word was ALSO offensive to Lounge mods! Everyone knows donkeys and buttocks are horribly offensive and wrong (I shoot donkeys every chance I get and I'm having a buttectomy next month. I am ashamed I didn't do it sooner, but it's so expensive & so is donkey ammo and, well, I had to make some tough decisions!), but fish and guitars?! She had no idea! So, calling her word "masked profanity," she was henceforth banished from the Lounge for two entire weeks.

Seeking refuge from this strange, picky, unfair (for she has seen many a post where far worse things were overtly said, yet those posters didn't get banned) realm, ExtraCookie found BuddyTV. In this land (full of foreigners Which is awesome, for E.C. has no traveling money), she found people who not only aren't offended by fish or guitars, but *gasp* not even by donkeys or buttocks! She knew right away (seriously!! Friendliest board ever!) she had found a home. A place with people as crazy . . . uh, I meant . . . as full of interest in Supernatural as she is. And who don't have sticks firmly implanted into their ASSES!

The End

P.S. No donkeys were actually harmed in the telling of this story.

P.P.S. Helps, don't look at the last word in the above tale, please. Hide your eyes, you innocent young one, you! Off to the kiddie section with ya!
That is rather funny and I think a bit pathetic on the Mods of that board 's part. How can you have a rule that stated no profanity when you are talking about a show that says the phrase 'kick your ass' and 'Son of a bitch' more times than you can even count ? Profanities hurled at other members , I get that, but come on the rest is just dumb. Don't even get me started on the fact that you didn't even use a profanity ...you used a 'concealed profanity' that is even more ridiculous .

From a Mod point of view, as I have experience here... you have to strike a good balance as regards all this on forums as public as these... It is totally futile and unfair to ban a user for using words in context that are already used in the show.... however, as a Mod, speaking for the rest of the Mod team, we do have to come down harder on those who use profanities just for the sake of it.... Boards are nicer clean of swear words and profanities that some, particularly, our younger users might read.... My own nearly ten year old comes in here with me from time to time to read various articles and comments... I am glad he doesn't have to read a mass of swear words... etc... Kids are so much better at remembering and reusing all the bad words then a mass of new innocent words in their vocab!!! Why is that I wonder???

Anyway.... as regards use of various words on these threads... as long as they are in line with show and are not offensive to anyone... let's face it though.... if Dean himself uses the words, and you are still tuning in to the show... then therefore, it's obviously not a big issue here!!! For the record though, I think Castiel has a worse mouth on him for the 'baddie' words.... Sam is a little more reserved in the show.... now that's a boy who was brought up well.... ....

Being a Mod on this forum, I am not here to diss the job done by another Mod or two on another forum... for the most part, they are only like you and me... ones who are just users on a site, who help out without pay etc... some get on with it and just do it, without letting the role go to their heads.... I joke from time to time on here, but as Spiderman's Uncle says... 'With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility!!!'..... Others take the role way too seriously and do let the power seep into their brains and go a little OTT....

We have a great bunch of users on these SPN threads.... they are well managed by all and there is a high level of fun, yet on point serious discussions on here too.... therefore there is also a good level of respect for all on here... We have no problem welcoming in newbies.... after all, the more the merrier!!! It makes my job so much easier moderating these threads....as believe it or not, I also have about a half dozen other areas on this site that I also keep an eye on... as do the rest of the main Mods... this is one area, I have to say is a job to moderate... I rarely, if ever have to do any nasty Mod work on it!!! So thank you all!!!! So therefore I too, can come on here and have some fun and not continuasly have my finger on all the Mod controls.... OMG.... there is actually so many of them, ROFL...... I feel like like some Countries president with my finger hovering over the nuclear red button at times.... ... Muhahahaha!!! I joke.... but it is an important role at the same time!!!

Anyway, back to other forums... particularly CW forums.... I go on there as an ordinary user from time to time... I find the threads very cluttered and very negative at times.... There are many breakaway clicky groups that don't seem to have much time for welcoming anybody new in there... sorry... just an observation here folks... Whilst the subject matter in the more serious threads, once you first wade thru the 50,000 I love Dean/Sam threads.... is usually very good, sometimes it's way too on topic.... therefore not giving it's users enough time to build up any relationships with their fellow users.... my impression is also honestly one of 'why don't more people praise or even give a thumbup to their fellow users comments.... I have read some absolute crackers of posts on there go totally uncommented on so therefore not giving as much fluency to actual threads...
Everytime, I venture in there, I seem to come across another side discussion about some misunderstood area of how forum is run.... I was on there a full three weeks before I even came across the general direction of where the rules were posted.... I suppose that's just me.... I am not a technical person.... I don't tend to seek out the hard bits/programmes etc... on my computer.... I like it all to be easy to use on this thing... but I am sure I am not alone on that one....

Anyway... that is there... this is here.... Just keep posting as you have already been doing.... keep it both light and serious.... in good measures.... keep respect for one another... keep also welcoming in the newbies.... keep contacting me (or indeed any of the other Mods), by whatever means necessary, if you need any help etc... keep watching the show....and most importantly.... keep having fun!!! .......and therefore ..... you all won't have to see a new character more serious then Lucifer appear on here... in the form of 'SMILEY RISING!!!!' ROFL...... Muhahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Have a good day all..... I'm off now to skin some of the local cats alive before I settle down to a lunch of termites....

Ahhh dammit.... why can't I do evil??? I just can't......

smiley, thank you for that "state of the nation" speech.

Seriously, I mostly agree with you. It's a happy concidence that a nice bunch of people have found each other in this SPN section. Although to be honest, a big number of the nice bunch originally met in the PB section. So SPN can't take all the credit for having the best, most reasonable and mature fans on here.

Quote:

You know Dean got punched in the face by that kid when he tried to use that line? I hate Spiderman and I hate this line.
And obviously someone in the SPN writing team agrees with me!

I can't really say anything about how it's like on other sections of BTV. Only that I made some posts over at the Lost section, but people don't generally seem all that welcoming of new people over there either, so I gave up on it pretty quickly.

In defense of CW lounge, I did find the rules immediately. But reading through them indicates that it's a no fun board. To be fair BTV probably has similar rules (it's been a long while since I've read them) about being off topic etc. but since they aren't exercised so strictly it leaves, like you said smiley, room for building actual friendships.

Hey, why is everyone dissing the "Sam girl/Dean girl" discussions? This is a vital question for each SPN fan! And if you are going beyond the "OMG he's so hot" one liner posts I am of the strong opinion it does reveal things about one's personality whether you are a Sam girl or a Dean girl and why, or changed from a Dean girl into a Sam girl and why or vice versa or are yet or again undecided.

Let me take this opportunity, smileyone, to give you a heartfelt thanks for the great job you are doing as a mod on here! (You seem to have mastered all the mod power buttons! )

Also Drama, did the new colleague help you in your desicion to become a mod again? (I wasn't hallucinating, you took a break from modding for a while, didn't you?)

LMAO.... yeah... it sure was one of those long speeches... that went on a bit.... LOL.... which is surprising for me as I had just not long rose up out of bed and I was only on my first coffee for the day.... OMG.... I am so on form and focussed today, I will move mountains !!!

Hopefully all will change now.... each section is now more closely monitored by one of our team of Mods who are now thankfully all singing off the same hymnsheet in unison!!! We do work alot as a team behind the scenes and it is now more organised with even better changes yet to come. And off I go again....

Yes I know..... LOL.... For the record though, I am also not a huge fan of the actual quote.... but it does have some truth to it all the same!!! That saying though.... I don't want a punch in the face too for saying that!!!

As I have already said.... things are now on the up on here.... Please do pop me a pm etc... if you find any ripples of any of this going on across the boards.... hopefully, the atmosphere will be really good across the boards from here on in!!!

Yes, but you are, as you know.... more technically minded then me at the best of times.... you seek these things out like a heat missile... Nearly two years on here and I still can't post a pic on here from scratch... even though you showed me..... I am one of those who need certain things explained to them like they are a three year old at times.... other times I get things straight away.... those boards were a little like that for me.... so many sub sections.... so many rules.... so many tangents etc..... I couldn't keep up.... felt too lost.... I'll give it another go soon!!!

Well I more meant the "OMG he's so hot" kind of posts.... however.... even you must admit, there may be slightly one or two more 'I Love Dean/Sam' threads on there for ones liking.... even at a first glance, if you are that way inclined!!!

Quote:

Honestly, I still get alot of help navigating my way around.... I have worked out most of the basic Mod functions.... they are easy enough to work.... I have been given a set of well worded guidelines as to how to run the boards and if I come across any area of trouble etc... I always have backup very quickly... so in that respect, the job is made more easier by the working together of a good team.... I work my own life like that.... so for me it's not really a chore but more an enjoyable experience!

Well... I guess it may have been more down to the threats from someone who shall remain nameless.... that she would indeed be changed forever into a leprechaun who roams the boards aimlessly with her home based firmly in one of the many MiSa threads that may have actually changed her mind.... I dunno..... but sometimes you got to do what you got to do to make a person see reason again!!!!
Glad to have Drama back on board though.... her help has been invaluable to me to now... Now, though.... it's like she's never been away!!!
