Question CAS vs. ARCHANGEL

Hi there, and welcome to my very first poll! I've been reading Lucifer Rising stuff all day and am thinking all kinds of things. One of them is the confrontation of Cas with the angel(s). I'm of two minds on this, and so I think they should combine.

On one hand, I want Cas to fight, fight, FIGHT! I'd love to see him fully unleashing all he's got for a change; this time, he's full of conviction & desperation, passionately fighting for all he's worth for what he firmly believes in; has nothing to lose. Blood is flying everywhere, he's being beaten horribly, but giving back as good as he gets; even though he's fighting an archangel. Who says angels can't have their own version of an adrenaline rush? (I'd like to see the angelic equivalent of "gloves being off"--using their powers rather than their bodies.)

BUT, on the other hand, I'd love to get the surprise that the angel(s) is/are actually there to SIDE with Cas!

Ideally, I'd love to see both of these combined:

The scene opens with a looming, extremely imposing being bursting into the room (I hope they have the $ for great FX next season!) and immediately making a beeline for Cas. (Optionally, we see there is at least one other angel of either kind with him; either they're Cas's fellow grunts & he easily brushes them off first or they stay out of the way for now.) Cas, looking more determined, intense & fired up than we've ever seen, shoves Chuck out of the way and makes his own beeline for the archangel. An epic battle ensues that makes us both wince at the brutality Cas is suffering and cheer madly at his fierceness & power. I'd also love to see a quick shot of the archangel taking a bit of pause at some point; taken aback by Cas's unwavering, passionate tenacity--he can hardly believe it!

Then, after putting up an extremely awesome fight, Cas does, of course, start to get overcome (this is an archangel, people) and, as he is about to get killed, he is boring into the archangel's "eyes" (or whatever FX or imaginings will pass for eyes) with those amazing, soul-penetrating ones of his and pleading (as much with his eyes as--if not more than--his voice) for all he's worth for the archangel to listen to him; basically saying their orders are corrupt, they're not from God, please just listen, etc. It doesn't look like the archangel's gonna. It looks for all the world like Cas & Jimmy are about to take their last bow. I mean, even though we know Misha's an official regular now, we're still sitting on the edge of our seats; he's gone slack, his eyes are growing dim. Then, at the last second, Cas's words manage to get through and he stops. Perhaps we see a shot of the archangel's questioning, confused, this-had-better-be-good face, then the scene ends with a shot of half-dead Cas's bloodied, exhausted face . . . whose eyes finally blink big time--closed in relief and exhaustion.

I don't even think we need to see anymore concerning this. The next we should see of Cas is him making another grand entrance (reminiscent of his first to Dean; hey, Sammy should get to experience that, too! That could certainly be a nice symbol for a fresh start between Cas and Sam) to wherever the Winchesters (& Bobby?) are with the archangel and, perhaps, some of his brethern/sisters in tow. Cas looks charged up, fiercely proud & victorious . . . and then adorably & slightly (& a bit shyly) smug when he meets the Wincheters' eyes. The Winchesters (& Bobby?) are awed & impressed and can't help nodding in approval to Cas, then looking at each other and grinning. And Cas's integration into the Winchester family (including his bonding with Sammy & Bobby) & the fight against hell begins. Impressive, no? Come on, Supernatural writers, please read this and plagiarize it! It's my gift to you! Whew!

So, how would you like the scene to go down? I've listed an "other" choice for you to write your own scenes in. Please feel free to get creative; don't be shy!

I don't know. The archangel sounds massive and very powerful. I think Cas may give it a shot at holding it off but get himself and Chuck to safety if it looks like he's going to lose.

Yay, two people voted on my poll! Thanks! I'm happy! (It doesn't take much to please me!)

And, so far, no one wants to see Cas fight but me!

More votes, please!

Someone really fell in love with a certain angel.

I voted, too!
When I read the combo option in the poll I thought "how can that work", but you described it brilliantly, and I'd like to see it go down similar to this.
I'd also like Anna to be in S5, on Cas & Co.'s side of course.

Thank you! And thanks for voting! And, oh, you are so on the same page as I! See, my little theory is that Anna got "caught" on purpose. Or, even if she didn't, she managed or will manage to help Cas/non-corrupt angels/Earth from the other side. We can't forget, she was Cas's superior, so she may have some tricks up her sleeve and/or connections that he doesn't. For all we know, one or more of the "corrupt" angels are double agents, and made sure to get their hands on her when she got to heaven (or wherever) and they've been scheming for good ever since. I won't be surprised if Anna shows up with that archangel! Or not long after he shows. Maybe she'll be the one to save Cas at the last second? Hm. I'm dying to find out what they do!!!

Although I'd adore seeing Cas fight (I mean, we should get to see that! He leaves off with that glorious moment of supposed self-sacrifice and it totals up to nothing more than peacefully meeting an ally?! That's just not fair! Especially as we've seen Cas get his ass kicked in every fight he had in Jimmy's body! I'd love to see one in which he, if not wins, very understandably loses & not without a hell of a great effort first. I feel no fight whatsoever will really let all the air out of his heroic stand!), I realize it'd be a difficult scene. Poor Misha, can you imagine? But, if they are clever about it (and we know the writers are), they can depict it well without having to nearly kill Misha in the process. They could use a lot of outside-the-house shots, showing windows smashing, the house shaking, blinding flashes of light radiating from it, huge crashing noises, etc. Shots from Chuck's cowering POV, with things smashing all around him (I'm assuming his eyes would be closed the whole time, unless he's one of the "special people" who can look at angels without being harmed), etc. and make what shots Cas are in really count. THEY COULD DO IT! They just have to kick the cleverness into high gear! See, they could use me as a consultant; I'd do it for free! Not that I'm overall so clever, but I've got good ideas for this particular scene, dang it!

I don't tend to be great at predicting outcomes (which makes watching shows/movies more entertaining for me), so I'm probably waaaay off as to what will actually happen. But, a girl can dream! And I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever they do. But Cas's heroic stand really should pay off with a fight; it'd mean so much more.

If they do it, they'd better be careful with Misha! I don't think he's used to all this fight scene stuff!

Awwwww! It's so sweet how you care for Misha. The Js get floung around and beaten up all the time, but I don't think anyone ever expressed such concerns about them. Ah we are just mean people.
You know how they insert disclaimers when they make movies where the plot involves animals being hurt: "No real animals were hurt in the process of filming"? If they do a big fight scene with Misha, and like you I really hope they will, we should petition that they insert "Misha wasn't hurt (very much) during filming this scene"

You seem pretty clever to me! They should use you for this scene and they should consult me about the guest stars they bring in.

Or if she got promoted to an archangel. That would be cool, though I highly doubt it. There's no one to promote her, to begin with, since god has left the building.

In some respects, Cas. comes across at times as being a bit of a walk over ... like he is more a sheep then a shepherd... with little power, always answering to others.... I'm thinking though, that he very well may surprise many by coming thru quite strong next season.... with some hidden powers/talents we have not yet been introduced to.... I want to see him with more power.... etc....

Of course I'm concerned for J2 also, but, as I said, I don't think Misha's done as many fight scenes as they have (he also mentioned getting hurt in one of Supernatural's) and *shifts eyes, looks a bit sheepish, whispers* they're a bit younger than he. The disclaimer idea is great! How about "No Mishas were hurt (very much) during the filming of this scene?" You have good ideas!

Thanks for the compliment! OK, give me your guest star reccommendations! They should consult us! We have the fan view and will work for free!

Promoted? Hm. That's interesting. I didn't look at it that way. I assumed that angels were different breeds; always being what they started out as. In the Bible, that's how it seems to be. Seraphim, Cherubim, etc. but I don't see why it couldn't be interpreted as a rank thing. I imagine archs as having to inhabit huge, muscly guys though.

I sooooo agree! I actually think people haven't given Cas a fair shake, though. I think that if you really look thoroughly at Cas's situation, his fighting-in-the-flesh failures are understandable and excusable. He doesn't seem to ever have had a vessel before, so he had probably never fought bodily before, if I'm making sense there. I'd say that could take some getting used to. Also, the first time he fought, he was probably going up against a more powerful adversary than he ever had and wasn't expecting that sort of power. As with the next two times, he ended up against the same force (that was more desperate this time) again and then he had to fight immediately after being completely blindsided by a looooooooooooooooooooong-time friend/brother. A brother who is a specialist at violence, I might add. So, although I've hated to see Cas getting beaten, I've understood it.

I'm really looking forward to Powerful Cas next year right along with ya! I,too, think we'll see it!

On that note, have you seen Misha at the cons talking about Cas's lack of fight skills? He is hilarious!

I'm totally in with your combo! I also thought first how it could work, but damn girl, you got everything in it I have longed for some time already! But, me WITHOUT being sadistic here, like to see him coming to the bros AND Bobby's bruised and exhausted and unbelievably tired. Yes, he can heal himself, no questions about that, but hey, it's been one hell of a fight and a fight against damn ARCHANGEL! He could offer a short explanation to worried bros (especially to Dean) and Bobby why he ain't healing as fast as usually (it could do something with the fact that the other fighter was an archangel, savingfaith333 has written awesome scene/episode/paragraph concerning that matter - being wounded by the weapon of archangel). I just want for once everyone (well, by everyone I of course mean especially Dean and Sam, but I think it would do good to Bobby too to see that side of Cas - I think that would make them appreciate him more and give him more gratitude. Seeing him in that kind of condition would really open their eyes to his situation, the sacrifices he's done and had been ready and willing to done).

Yes, you're making completely sense. I've always seen those fight-episodes in that light. I just wander if Misha himself would need someone to teach him some nasty tricks about fighting . He has said in some interview(?) that he has never been in any kind of fight and (if I remember right) can't fight. If you compare him and J2 you can see that the last ones have much sharper punches . Well, Castiel just has to get used to the vessel .

And OH YES, DEAR GOD, we definetely need - and DESERVE - to see much powerful Cas in the season 5 !!!
