There was no need for the two HotChicks not if it means that the show is now riddled with cliches and turned into a comedy instead of a spooky and creepy show. Both of them need to go and now and the show needs to go back to being about two brothers who hunt evil and saves lives while traveling the back roads of America. The lighting has changed, the cool music is gone, the monsters are a joke, the adding of special slo-mo effects make it look like this is a commercial for shampoo, the tension is no longer there and the brothers are barely in scenes together as they are so busy shoehorning the new girls in. Both of the actresses can't act and are walking cliches and the show has become boring. Of the people I knew who watched the show before only 2 still watch and they plan to stop watching soon.

So far, Ruby and Bela are adding nothing to the show for me. I know we're only 3 episodes in but I really hope I start to feel some of that old Supernatural charm soon. "Bad Day..." was a little step in that direction, with a little more brotherly interaction than the first two episodes, but I have a feeling that's going to be shortlived and few and far between with one or the other of these girls turning up in nearly every episode. My fingers are crossed that they are used very sparingly in the majority of the episodes in which they appear.

I have no idea where you're getting your information, Jon. The ratings of the first three episodes of the third season, compared to the second season, are WAAAAAY down! 'Chick-Gate', as you call it, has done nothing but negative things for the show. Ruby's big 'secret' wasn't too surprising and the idea that she is going to save Dean rather than Sam is revolting. Bela did nothing but make the boys look like fools. Why would fans want to see that? Apparently they don't, judging by the ratings. Supernatural didn't need any 'sexing up', Jared and Jensen were quite sexy enough, thank you. I have no idea why two more regular characters where added, and even less of an idea why these two were brought out from under the rock where they lived instead of making characters whom the fans already liked into regulars, like, Bobby or Ellen. The fans were even warming to Jo after BUABS, and Ash after the Winchesters weren't calling every other day for research which Sam and Dean coul

(continuing my comment) could easily have done. Fans are not happy with the new 'brighter' show, fans do not like the idea that Hunters are just as bad as demons, or that there can be 'good' demons (WTF?) and we don't want to see the boys constantly shown up, and having their asses kicked, especially by these new chicks. There is a large segemnt of fandom no longer watching because the character of Dean has been dumbed down to a buffoon who's only priority is food and sex. There are some who stopped watching after Sam was designated the 'Anti Christ' because it further separates the boys and makes Sam more important than Dean. There are some who find it completely OOC that Sam would be stupid enough to trust a demon, and who find it insulting that Sam needs a demon to help him get Dean out of his deal anyway. Many fans abandoned their efforts in promoting the show because they don't want to promote something that they no longer enjoy themselves. Fans are falling aw

(Damn, that was longer that I thought! Y'all need to install a length test in here!) away left and right. That is the effect 'Chick-Gate' has had. (whew)

I like the Ruby character a lot. I love her plotline so far and I like the way the actress plays her. I think KC is a fine actress. I'm not sure about Bella yet. Bella could be very interesting. I like the idea of a hunter who decides to quit being noble and goes for the big bucks. I'll just wait and see how the show uses Bella. Seems to me that these 2 character did increase the ratings. The ratings seem to be consistently higher this season. I love the plotlines being developed, especially Sam as "boy king" of the demons. I do miss the classic rock soundtrack, though! And the lighting on the show has changed. Used to be dark, almost sepia sometimes, or black-and-white, and I liked it, appropriate for a horror show.

i don't understand what either of these girls are bringing to the show. i've seen that show before....it was called Buffy..and then Faith made a few appearances on there, as well. and if i wanted to watch a show about "kick-ass chicks" i'd go watch Bionic Woman or hell...even Heroes! this show i watch because of the brotherly interaction....which....safe to say, has seriously been lacking as of late. where's the classic rock music?? where's my dark and creppy gray tint to the whole show?? where's the scares?? because all i've seen is gore...and that doesn't do much for me. and these demons aren't scary at all, hell they're boring! my fiance seems to dislike the girls more than i do. and the ratings have been just horrid for the first few episodes. remember the first two season premieres?? yeah, they raked in 5 million and almost 4 million...this one?? barely 3 million. i suggest this show pick up the pace, drop the chicks, and go back to it's roots fast before all of the fans s

MOUSITSA'S RANT / PART I: You, Mr. Lachonis, seem determined to continue to play into and play up the old "sexing up of Supernatural" angle that you seem so fond of stressing every time you write about the introduction of these new characters, especially being one of the worst offenders when the original RuBela spoiler info leaked. By doing so, you do a great disservice to the already nervous fans by fanning the flames. So I have begun to not trust anything you have to say and most definitely take it with a grain of salt. Mr. Kripke, on the other hand, is not only smart but humble enough to recognize and admit to character mistakes. And one lesson learned was that of how NOT to introduce a new female character and how NOT to define her purpose (i.e. "Jo"). Having admitted to that particular error in judgment, I am much more willing to retreat to the Wait-and-See-Lounge as the stories of Ruby and Bela unfold. And although these characters certainly do seem interesting, I mos

MOUSITSA'S RANT / PART II: .... I most certainly do NOT want to give up precious and valuable screen time getting to "know" them better and in the process pushing the Winchesters to the background. Having one or the other show up in EACH episode only results in giving the show the feel of an "ensemble" cast, like Smallville and Heroes, and this seriously changes the successful formula that drew fans to Supernatural originally. The spoiler-freaks already knew about Ruby being a demon, which is a big reason why a great deal of the freak out had somewhat subsided. We also know another reveal about Ruby which is making the acceptance of the character easier (despite the difficulties that Katie Cassidy is having fitting into this role). Lauren Cohan's mature approach to her role had already endeared us to her character and allowed us to be patient in a wait-and-see mode before we lay final judgment on Bela. So far though their purpose seems quite contrived. Info that Ruby provided to
