I think that the character of Ruby is really interesting. Unfortunately the actress they have chosen to play her comes across as a pouty blonde bimbo. I think I would enjoy the character so much more if the actress was believable which I'm afraid in Katie's case, she is not.

Sorry I am just not impressed with either. I wasnt surprised by Ruby being a demon and Bela seemed so ... well she is rather "ho-hum". Nothing exciting and neither made me want to watch the show or keep me interested. There are more important things that should be of focus this season than the two "chicks" that they forced down our throats. Next season for me hangs on Deans life... IF he dies and/or these girls still remain come season 4 I will find something else to watch on Thursday night. Oh and BTW CW... releasing new pics from LAST seasons promos of Jensen and Jared does in NO way make up for lack of Season 3 promos this year. Way to spend the budget... force feeding us the new women and promoting that lackluster of a show called Reaper. Thanks Dawn... drag one network down... drag another.

If Kripke and Spernatural crew think having the girls on is something to smile about then they are in for a rude awakening....already some of my friends have stop watching the show ...some girls cause they dont like Rubela...and some of mymale friends cause they say the show is way different. The guys I know are now watching REAPER...and are into PSYCHE. No more Super for the. The girl friends of mine say they will wait until September 2008 to buy the season 3 DVD set ...this way they can fast forward the Rubela girls. I myself have only enjoyed epy 3. It was funny and brotherly the reason I have watched SN since September 13th, 2005. Sadly Ive heard Jensen say bring on the girls...so its not just Jareds Face...but to me thats like saying I only want to see John and Paul of the once fab four Beatles...so sad...so sad.

I agree with some fans who feel that the role of Ruby went to the wrong person. The girl can not act. Sandra McCoy Jards real life is a better actress...then both girls an she is much prettier. Why couldnt she had gotten the part of Ruby...she could have dyed her hair red for the part. Then Sandra has such a small part in the 5th epi...which airs on November 1....but I HEARD that they the SN crew of writers were looking for the right part for her....wow what a small part. Katie got the job...why cause shes David Cassidys daughter???I am so fed up that I hope SN only gets one more season and that they kill off Rubela.

I can't see that it has helped, the ratings are down, though of course they are down across the CW. Supernatural had it's best ratings when the show focused on the boys and the scares without too much in the way of cliche'd apocalyptic mytharcs(which how come Ruby has a huge role in the mytharc right off the bat and Dean, the co-lead of the show, after 3 seasons still has NONE?). When it was about a family that had been torn apart by evil and was doing everything it could to fight back.....I find myself liking Ruby way more than Bela though. Bela is a character who can in no way can fit into 12 episodes without it very quickly becoming contrived and tiring. She's annoying and the actress is stilted and stiff. Jensen was practically dragging her through their scenes together.

| Senior Member ![]() | I hate it when people stop watching a show after three episodes because there is one character they don't like. If they want to stop watching I guess its their problem, we'll all enjoy the really awesome episodes Kripke has been throwing at us. I'm really hoping beyond hope that Bella managed to find her nitch in the storyline and doesn't become this reoccuring, frustrating character who only manages to screw with Sam and Dean. A couple times is fine, but if we're talking about 12 episodes its going to get tired fast.

Ay yi yi. Chick gate didn't help the show. In case you haven't noticed, the ratings suck. Ruby, despite the so called twist of being a demon (my friends who don't even watch the show that much had that pegged straight away), is completely unoriginal in the way she's presented. Bela is another walking cliche. Kripke really shouldn't attempt female characters. The one offs are ok but the ones intended to be regs are lame. The lamest I've seen in a loooooong time. My friends, as mentioned above, have now completely jumped ship on this show due to them and I'm about to follow suit. They took a fresh and interesting show and are now turning it into the same crap you can find on any channel. I think Kripke lucked out with Jared and Jensen and they made this show into something more than it ever could have been solely based on Kripke's mediocre storytelling. That luck and chemistry between the lead actors is being squandered miserably. This show has turned into a complet

When it comes to Ruby, I'm not salivating for more. I guessed that she would be a demon before that was revealed. It seems an obvious move, but it also makes Ruby worse than Ash in that she knows things and they don't even have to have any sort of explanation for it. She just knows. I actually find it boring, and she's boring, too. I'm not happy with either addition to the cast, because I also was not looking for sex on this show--plenty of other shows have that--and because their presence, as well as the presence of an excess of other hunters and other guest characters this season, has really changed the atmosphere and flavor of the show. It's become like every other show, and it's not longer fun to watch. It's just...boring. I hope it picks up soon.

My whole philosophy on Chick Gate was wait and see. Now that I have seen both characters, I can honestly say that I cannot stand Ruby and so far Bela is okay. My main reason for not liking Ruby is she is a Mary Sue cliche, plus Katie Cassidy cannot act, which makes the character so much more lame. OTOH, Lauren Cohan can act, but how in the world will Kripke use Bela in 12 eps? Having a thief run around harassing Sam and Dean doesn't seen believable. For a few eps, but not 12. So right now I am saying to Kripke, Dawn O. and the CW Network: KEEP BELA, DUMP RUBY. And mostly bring back the Sam and Dean we fans love - hunting evil TOGETHER, without the girls.
