I have no idea what I want it to be though. Being a hunter would be kind of cool if they played the card right. If she's not a hunter I'm not sure what I want it to be. Maybe she was a past generation of special kids...?

I like the idea that she belongs to a past generation of special kids. Maybe this "specialness" is passed on to following generations so that Sam kinda got it from his mother.

I think she was like an angel who chose to love a mortal man...then she gave birth to two special kids. One the best demon hunter of his generation ...Dean...and the other born with psychic powers Sam. Being that the best demon hunters are angels this would explain the YED killing anyone having to do with her world. Remember that demons were angels once until they fell from grace...So that woul explain the YED knowing Mary...

I don't think so ....to put her as an angel would kinda confirm that there is a god and Supernatural isn't about all that. Remember the whole Houses of the Holy episode. They like to keep religion at a distance on this show and let people decide for themselves.

Yah, Kripke really does try and put religion at a distance. Lucifer was a fallen angel, but we're not even sure he's real. No more sure than we are that God in real (in the show I mean). The demons have *faith* that he is, but its the same as human faith, which I think is an interesting way to go.

I still don't have a real idea what Mary is. Maybe a former generation of special kids like you said. Maybe she really did something for the YED, like Jake did. That would be interesting.
