Default Louisiana

You know, I have watched this show, and enjoyed the character progression and the plot that the writers come up every time my friend comes over with a six-pack, a bowl of popcorn, saying "Movie Night?" while I grab the disks that hold this show.
But, being a writer myself, I watch the episodes from a fan's point-of-view and from a worker's point-of-view. 'How did they tweak that legend like that?' 'I have heard of that, but never in that context.' 'This is why I never pick up hitch-hikers or women dressed in white, I don't care if there is a prom nearby.'

And yes, that is true.

But, coming from the great swampy state of Louisiana, I watched the entire first season thinking to myself "I know of several legends within my home state that were not represented. These legends would make great episodes.

Now, I'm never going to actually say what my ideas are, since you never know who reads these things, but I will say that if people who write for the show ever read these threads, I will say to them "Look at the swamp state, and tell me that you can't find any supernatural legends there." Personally thinking, I grew up with those legends. For a long time, though I knew that they were not real, I would avoid certain patches of woods, not cross certain bayous or rivers, just because...you never know. When you grow up hearing about these horrible things that live deep in the swamp or nestled up against a tree that sits out on the lake, you tend to look at them differently.

Anyway, that was my rant. I leave this to your scrutiny.

There are ledgends all over the place. For the wild west ghost towns, to the witch trials in Salem, MA, right down to the swamps of Louisianna. They have a big well to draw from and who knows, maybe they'll pull a ledgend or two from your neck of the woods. I'd love to see them explore more places.

Ok then.... what mythology is around the state of Lousiana? They only time I ever heard of anything creepy around Lousiana was when Scooby Doo & the Gang went to see one of their long lost uncles etc... in some creepy house there! Scooby & shaggy nearly always enevitably ate too many seafood concoctions and something glowing appeared to them....

Seriously, what other mythical/ scary type passed down stories surround the state of Lousiana? This does interest me... I'd love to find some out!!!

Welcome to the forum, btw... even if it is a good while ago now and you have probably moved on!!!!
