Video Recommendations

Hi, all! I didn't see a thread for this and didn't feel this fit anywhere else, so I made this thread. If it is, indeed, redundant or for any other reason you think it needs to be elsewhere, just tell me where, and I'll move this post and you can delete this thread.

I just wanted to share some excellent John-centric vids I love. They're not brand-new, so they may already be well-known to you all, but they're so good, I wanted to make sure. I'm not that big on fan vids; many tend to be poorly done, slashy, or super sappy. (I like some sappy ones, but there are just too many!) So, they have to really stand out before I'd recommend them. Enjoy!

Then, there's this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSIfMjEkATY Just makes you feel very tranquil and hopeful and sad and . . . I don't know, just watch it! I was quite surprised; I'm not a Paul Simon fan, but this song is lovely and fitting. When I watch this one, I feel at least a little peace for John . . . and I want him back!

There was a third one I really liked, "John Winchester - Leave Out All the Rest (Supernatural)" that, much to my dismay, has been removed! If, by some miracle, anyone here knows the person that made that, if you would tell them to put it back up, I'd be grateful!

and cool. If you like/love John, you'll surely appreciate it and may love it. If you don't like him, it may be educational for you. You may learn something. If nothing else, the song is lovely! Give it a chance.

Kudos to you for making this thread. I love some vids on youtube and I occasionally shared them on FB, but it's cool we've got a thread....

I love vids you posted. Especially John's journal is interesting and also vid about The Rapture ep is cool,

Thanks for showin' my thread some love and contributing!

I especially liked "On The Darkest Side of the Sun" (I had just heard that song for the first time a week or so ago and liked it; now there's a cool Supernatural vid to it! Nice!) and "Permanent."

C'mon, anyone else? I'd especially be happy to be tipped off to any vids that are more along the lines of "Deus Ibi Est" and "On The Darkest . . ." I like the sappy ones, too, but there's an over abundance of them, so I'm hungering for more cool, bad-ass, all-encompassing, etc. ones. Ones like "teardrop," too. Know what I mean? Enchanting sort of? I can't think of a better word; help!

Also: Let's all do each other a favor and make a note if a vid. is slashy, please.

On that note, I CHALLENGE people to find good Castiel and/or Jimmy vids that are NOT slashy!!!!! It's amazing, you can find at least 50% non-slashy vids for the Winchesters, but try to find vids for Cas and, SLASH SLASH SLASH! I think I found one for Cas that was pretty good and NOT slashy. I think it's called "Closer."

Also, I can't get over how people tend to use ANY song that mentions the word "angel" in it, no matter how fitting or not the lyrics are!

Lyrics matter, people!

LoL... those slash ppl... I don't really mind,tho.. But I don't like Wincest. It's sick even more, because they're actually brothers. Dean/Cas aren't interesting for me either, but I've seen some cool vids. I mean, it doesn't burn my eyes out while watching it,lol... I'm not a slash fan, but occasionally enjoy some vids... I tend to understand them as it's only about their friendship,so those long romantic looks don't bother me at all

Share with us Closer vid... I agree that there aren't many non slash Castiel vids. How Misha said "Jesus Christ! He's an angel!" lol I agree. Come on pp, why u can't just make vid that isn't all slashy...

Man, there can't be anything but a sad Jimmy vid., can there? Poor Jimmy, bless his lil' heart!

(Well, actually, I think "teardrop" is also powerful as well as sad.)

It and the song are kind of vague. I think a slasher could see slash in it, but non-slashers can see so much more. I interpret it as it being about Cas and how he desperately wants to make a connection with not only Dean, but humans/emotions in general. I'd love to hear what you get out of it (if you like it enough to watch it all, of course!) I like the vid. effect in this one; that soft pink blush throughout. Pretty!

And, yes, I shall always share any Cas and/or Jimmy vids. with you and anyone else here; you do the same for me, deal? The ones like we've posted (non-slashy) are rare, though! If any vid. maker sees this message, will you please make a nice, non-slash vid. about Cas and/or Jimmy?! Thanks! (And one that doesn't use a song just because it has the word "angel" in it?!)

P.S. As to the slash, yeah, I don't go on a rampage when I see it! As no one on Supernatural (except in "Ghostfacers") has ever actually done something gay, they're usually just footage we know and love set to a song that makes it seem gay. But ones that are ambiguous and well done are fine. I've seen a few comedic ones that are good, too. I just don't like it in general.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcQP8...eature=related OK, this one is really quirky. It's about angels. WARNING: It has a seriously irritating sound effect in it! So, make sure the volume is low. And the sound isn't continuous. And I've gotten used to it.

Then, there's this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=717n6...eature=related It's not weird. It's nice. The lyrics aren't 100% fitting, but it's still lovely. It's a Cas vid.

Upon a wonder around Youtube I found that people have made opening credits for Supernatural. These loads and some are really good.
