Board Censorship?!!!

Hi, folks!

I'm a recently banned refugee from the CW Lounge. I really need a new home! I don't want to cut all ties with the place, but I got banned for a ridiculous reason (for typing the name of a kind of fish that rhymes with lass) and I'm looking for a message board that is not censored or is at least mildly censored on which to have most of my discussions! Some place that is logical as opposed to ridiculous and doesn't over-react to honest mistakes!

In other words, I want a place where I can at least directly quote actual characters from the show! Is that too much to ask?!

So, if anyone would be kind enough to tell me what the censorship is like here, I'd be sooooo grateful!

that sounds really stupid. I dunno which fish you mean,lol but deffo we're quite free here. I think moderators are very understanding and don't take every our word and complain about it. We can quote the show as long as I know We can even be off topic,lol every now and then. Feel free to join us, I think you're gonna be okey between us.

And if you ever should get in any trouble (though that's impossible for quoting anyone of SPN) we just so happen to be good friends with a certain mod here, so let us know and we'll put in a good word for you. *brags*

I'm Smiley, one of the Moderators who look after the SPN Section and the whole of the boards!!! [Terri also looks after SPN section,Sonny is another great Mod to go to if you have any queries etc...] RachelMC is general Mod Queen... She is also very friendly & helpful!!!

Regarding Board Censorship etc.... We run [or try to] very easy going, but informative and fun forums on this site. We encourage fun, and happy interactions between users. We recognise the fact that everyone makes mistakes, from time to time, however if you post in a friendly manner, with no expletives etc... all should be well!!!
There is a full section on basic forum rules etc... in the Meet & Greet Section of the boards, please have a look up there at some stage for a more informative look at how forums run!

Other then that.... Please make yourself at home and have fun!!! Look forward to chatting with you soon!!!

Extra... I forgot to add that you also need to be a bit wary of the regulars on the SPN threads..... [not looking at anyone in particular, but they are not a million miles away from this very thread.... ] .... cause between you and me, they all border on being slightly insane...
We all tend to get on here.... if you too, border on the slightly insane side, you'll fit right in here, I assure you!!!

LOL..... Go one tell us.... what's the fish??? I can't get it either.... ROFL.... I was over on those CW threads for a while and tbh, I did find them to generally be very negative boards... lots of backbiting going on... Every thread I went into had either a fight about to start or the tail end of one and then nothing.... but a declaration from about 20 different users moaning about the last 20 pages!!! Fights or ripples of fights tend to be stopped before they even start on here!!! I go on there every now and then, however, unlike these boards, I haven't made any new friends over there other then the one who came over with me. I prefer and always have preferred these threads!!!

..... ISH!!!........ We still like to keep it fairly clean on here. Lots of our forum users are of an impressionable younger age then us more mature lot, so in respect of them, we do try to know when to tow the line, however... we still have fun!!!

Oh, my goodness, what a welcome! I thought I'd be lucky if I got one tiny post acknowledging my presence! I really appreciate the warm welcome!

OK, y'all must be some super citified city folks; I think it's adorable ya couldn't guess I was speaking about the BASS fish!

OK, I'm taking a risk here; I hope I don't get in trouble. I got banned for quoting Dean from "When the Levee Breaks," when Cas and Dean talk. I typed "bass-reaming"; we know what he really said--I didn't say that. Then got banned for "masked profanity!" This is even after I noticed my post had been edited for this and posted, informing them I didn't realize I'd done wrong and apologized! I thought it was OK to sub a totally non-profane word for a profane one. I thought masked profanity was using some letters of a cuss word, then subbing the rest with other characters; they don't even define "masked profanity" on the site, which is darned unfair!

I'm not a huge cusser (I'm from KY; that's what we call it) anyway; I don't tend to use those words just for filler; for no good reason. I use them mainly if I'm quoting someone else, to express a strong emotion (anger or sadness) or for emphasis. So, it's not like I'm a real potty-mouth!

I will get to reading those rules, too, thank you for directing me! See, why can't they do that at the CW? I searched and searched and still never found any definition of what they banned me for!

Basically, on Supernatural, the characters say some cuss words. Can we directly quote them when they do? That's all I need to know. The word I got banned for was a perfectly clean substitute for the word Dean used which refers to the buttocks! Can we say that one?!

I just don't understand there being a message board for a show in which characters say certain words that doesn't allow the posters to say them; even if directly quoting them!

Do y'all really think anyone is tuning into Supernatural, like: "Oh boy, I love this show! Ah, the blood! The gore! All right, sex! Woo hoo, violence & murder! Ah, great ep.! Now, I'll just mosey onto the ol' message board and see what's up--OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME! HEAVENS TO BETSY, IT'S THE A-WORD! IT'S ONE THING TO HEAR & SEE SOMEONE SPEAK IT ON A SHOW THAT I CHOSE TO WATCH, BUT SEEING IT TYPED?!! WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO?!" Really?! I'm just looking for a little logic, that's all.

As to insanity . . . well, I don't know. I mean, you people sound pretty nuts. Not all sane, like me. It's not like I'm obsessed with the show and think about it every day and wish the characters were real or anything. . . nooo. Not me; of course not. (You're buying this, right?) Heh heh. Yeah. Bring it on!

So you see, there's no need going all "guess the fish" on us.

About the use of swearwords, it's obviously not encouraged, and the mod's wrath will rain down on you when you call a fellow user ugly names, but I myself when I'm upset use "damn", like in "that was pretty damn stupid of him" and nothing ever happened to me.

The thing is that only one of us that have answered in this thread is a US-citizien, the others are Europeans. I don't know about them, but I have no idea what KY means ... Something to do with Kansas, by any chance? I bet you are in the middle or in the west, judging by the times you post, unless you have a really erratic sleep pattern.

Don't worry. We're not nearly as uptight in these forums. I think it's rather ridiculous you were banned for that reason. It isn't like you were flooding the threads with profanity. You made an attempt to clean it up and were unaware of the rules.
