| Moderator ![]() | Supernatural fans have reason to be excited today. Even though the premiere of season 5 is far away, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles recently appeared at a European convention where they gave fans a lot of hope for Supernatural season 6. Some people worried that a sixth season would result in a completely different show, but Jensen confirmed to the Coventry Telegraph that he and Jared both have six-year contracts for the show, meaning if CW president Dawn Ostroff picks up Supernatural for season 6, Sam and Dean will both be in it. That's the good news, but here's the not-so-good news. While Jensen and Jared have six-year contracts, creator Eric Kripke only has a five-year contract, so if the network does renew Supernatural beyond Kripke's original five-year plan, there are two options. The first is for the network to shell out some big bucks to sign him to a new contract. The second is to continue the show without Kripke. If you think that's jumping the gun, think again. In the interview, Jared also mentioned that his "best guess" is that the show will be renewed once again. The increased ratings for season 4 plus the promise of being paired with new blood in the form of The Vampire Diaries makes Supernatural a more solid prospect than the network's other aging shows like One Tree Hill and Smallville. What do you think? Is season 6 worth it if we get Jensen and Jared but no Kripke? Personally, I might be OK with it so long as they promoted one of the other great writers like Sera Gamble or Jeremy Carver. Source

| I was there when Jensen said that! Seeing as Smallville will definitely be over after S9 (it will, won't it?) the CW would be stupid to let SPN go that easily, when the ratings continued rising (and why shouldn't say, now the most stubborn and reluctant people have been made aware what awesome a show it is?). Master Kripke had an 5 story arch, and I respect them. However, I hope he is reasonable enough to go one season longer and stand by his creation and end it how he wants to end it, rather than refusing to continue and letting someone else ruin it. So what I'm saying is, don't be stubborn Master Kripke, and be available for a season 6.

| Anyone have any guesses at all about how Master K and his brilliant team of writers would possibly take this show to a Season 6? Would S5 be more about a possible divide between the brothers??? Would it need to have more stand alone eps ? What else could they do with the whole Castiel story??/ Any ideas or thoughts anyone???

| Good questions. I'm not a very good guesser. Can I say what I'd like to see intead? I'm going to assume you said "yes." I, really, can't take the brother conflict anymore. And what I really can't take anymore is our sweet, compassionate, gentle Sammy being awful. I know he'll never be the exact same Sammy as before; that would be ridiculous. But if they don't bring him back to being his core self soon, I'm going to be really depressed. As for Cas, I see him as extremely fertile story ground! Hell, if the writers can't think of enough stuff, they need to contact me! He's an angel! A more scripturally accurate angel! Has there ever been an on-going TV show with one of those in it?! None that I know of! I think between exisiting scriptures and Eric and the writers' imaginations (and Misha's amazing acting abilities) there can be so much story to be told! He's been alive for thousands of years and we know almost nothing about him or his past. He's showing us more and more what depth he has. I'd love to find out all the things he's done and been through (especially his time in hell fighting for Dean and what happened to him in "Bible camp" and it should all be juicy!) that he naturally hides behing that angelically stoic facade. I think it'd be amazing for our guys--esp. Dean-- to learn just what an amazing creature he is and what he's seen, done, been through, and (esp. Dean) just what risks he's taken and trouble he's gone to for them. I also very much want to see him in warrior angel mode. See how powerful he is and how terrifying he can be. I'd like to see a look of awed, respectful, full-on fear smacked onto the Winchesters' faces while/after witnessing a Cas power demonstration at some point. I want that original sense of fearful, restrained power about Cas to pay off! Some demonstration of that quality that sent a shiver down my spine when he threatened to throw Dean back into hell! (But I never want to see Cas threaten Dean like that again. They're too close now.) As for Sammy, I'd like to see him either have lost all his powers or to realize they're in his full control and are, therefore, not necessarily evil. I wish my original hope of his powers being his naturally from birth and only enhanced by demon blood could be true, but I doubt that will happen. I also want a damned explanation about the whole blood thing! If he didn't need it, then why the addiction?! Is it something that just messes with one's head or what? I don't get it. One of the main reasons I fell in love with the Winchesters was that they were just humans. Special humans, but humans. Not super heroes. Not supernatural beings. Just regular, flesh-and-blood humans like us who put their mortal lives on the line for others, fighting with all the human resources they had. I've always been a bit disappointed that Sammy ended up being magical! But I can deal with it. As for season 6 in general, I may be in the minority, but I don't necessarily believe that a story has to keep topping itself and never continuing in a vein. I'd love to see the apocalypse resolve totally and have season 6 be all about the aftermath of that in all its facets but focusing mostly, of course, on Dean, Sammy, Cas and Bobby. I want to see these characters finding themselves all over again and figuring out where their places in the universe are. I want to see the boys back to hunting (and I'd love to see them meet back up with Lenore and other vamps along the way). I want to see Cas (as a non-fallen, still-with-Jimmy angel) settled in with them; one of the family and trying to adjust to his new role, whatever that may be. It'd be nice to see some lose ends wrapped up, etc. It'd also be nice to see our 4 guys getting some peace at some point (I would actually love an episode where they're on vacation, so to speak. I think it could be done well and actually be entertaining). It'd be nice to see more of Jimmy and get a little story on how he's dealing; maybe he visits Claire. Sorry for the ramble! As you can see, I think there's plenty of material for S6. I think there should be 7 seasons. I don't automatically assume that the show will suck without Eric. First, he may still associate with it enough to have plenty of influence. Second, if we keep all our same writers and whoever steps in for Eric doesn't change things up and stifle them, I'm sure we'll be in good hands. Why be negative? |

Also I imagine that the likes of the prop and design Departments must get on with their work too designing whole sets etc.... without having to consult Kripke over every little minor change or thought they may have .... He'd never sleep a single wink if he didn't delegate at least some of the roles to some others!!!

| I like season 4 which is of the horror series Supernatural debuted on 18th September 2008. In the first episode Dean wakes up to find himself in a pine box after being freed from hell by angel Castiel, who informs the overjoyed Dean, Sam and Bobby that God has work for Dean and that is why he was pulled from hell by Castiel. Sam, Dean and Bobby are plagued and accused by the ghosts of the people they were unable to save. |
