I think it would be horrible if Kripke let the fans determine in what direction the show is going to go. I think it would be cool if he created a rift between the characters. That is the ultimate conflict they could have in this show. Keep in mind that conflicts are almost always resolved. I think it would be interesting to see these two as enemies and see how that is eventually resolved. Frankly, I think I would be irritated if Kripke opted for a rainbow and puppy dog solution. The boys have had too much luck thus far, Dean can't come out of hell right away. And it just wouldn't make sense if he came out unscathed. Or if Sam went through the separation unscathed. Play it smart Kripke.

One more thing....Has anyone thought of the possibility that time in Hell runs a lot differently than time on Earth. Perhaps a minute on Earth actually feels like an eternity in Hell. So maybe they do bring Dean back quickly on Earth...But he feels like he's spent forever in Hell and is therefore tainted because of it.

i gotta say im a bit laughing at what im reading, not at anyone at all but what i cant believe majority of you are coming to my point of view of it all look back a thread or 2 i been saying all along, i think when & if dean comes back that 1 hes so traumatized hes all screwed in the head, coming back with some powers more than likely being able to see demons when no one can, but more so #2 being back from the dead hes fighting his inner demons not to go full blown demon, fighting every ounce in not to snap & kill sam, which i feel he will play off as if nothings wrong, which is where the tension stems from the constant fight that dean has to do within himself, (fighting the good fight at the moment every minute every day/triumph- 80's rock three man band) used in an episode already if i could remember which id list it but ill look it up & post it for you guys. this is what i been standing by for the longest, how i see seasons 4 theme.

trip my wire that time difference i brought up in some other thread a while back glad to see someone is getting to my point of view on this too ruby says it takes centuries to turn demon, (yea demonic years not human is how i perceived it from jump) as far as bringing him back quickly ?? maybe maybe not, i say early because how long can a soul stay disconnected from a body & still be brought back to together, id have to think in theoretic terms if it were possible then dean comes back disfigured in the face but we know that aint happening think what that would do to the fans of dean/jensen, lose a lot of fans quick off the bat thats why that wont happen to dean, but you gotta realize theres gotta be some kinda darker dean while he puts on a facade, that he doesnt let on to sam, anythings wrong

another thing however kripke goes with this even though its only a show, you gotta look realistic at this how can anyone sit here & expect in the world of the supernatural that its gonna stay america's next top model sort of speak its gotta go darker cant expect it to go all disney land everythings perfect & beautiful. it would get boring if it took a backseat to hell, its gotta be like a demondriving force & in its mirror the white light, not the firey depths of hell. theyre trying to escape from hell with the light to heaven diminishing, but with a ray of hope they can pull it off by sending all these evil sons of b*tches back to hell & go down swinging

i have to say i do agree partially with padackels about deans contract & lillith, that she breaks the deal herself, sending dean back or something causing the consistent conflict within dean himself trying to get dean to kill sam, but somewhere down that line the brotherly love surfaces making sam & dean stronger than ever & lillith will be in for a real kick a** rude awakening

The only deal I can see sam making with lillith is lillith brings dean back to life and sam never taps into his dormant powers, but I dont see that happening. It would get a bit repetive that a demon deal saves the day. Plus they would lose the awsome story line of sam's abilties. As for Dean's mental condition when he comes back from hell, who wouldnt be broken after being tortured for an extended period of time? What is hell besides a torture pit? As for Dean and Sam being possibly seperated from Dean, could it just mean that Sam is hunting with Ruby (assuming her character comes back) without Dean's help. And is there any word on whether or not she will be back next year? I actually think she should and if she is will Kassidy be playing her again? I thought she did an awsome job outside of the end scene in Sin City. And I agree with fullonswaze that this is a dark show not a disney flick.

It takes decades or even centuries to turn into a demon. So even if Dean's there slightly longer than we would like, he's not gonna turn into a demon! Except if they do the whole Buffy thing where the time on earth and hell/wherever aren't moving at the same speed. Which I don't think they will. They are they writers who turned the vampire lore into something totally different so why would they use the same story as Buffy. I think Kripke just means that it'd be a couple of months. But Dean's gonna return very soon but not himself because of the trauma. I mean, c'mon. He wasn't even there for 10 minutes and he got tortured so it's gonna haunt him. He'll probably distance himself from Sam and therefore, affecting the relationship between the brothers. Lets not forget that EK is not the only one in the writer's room. Other writers will shot down ideas that they don't like. And any of them read all the message boards, which they do, they'll pick up on the points made by fans and adjust t

I hope it does pick up months after because it wouldn't be the same if Dean wasn't in the episodes. I think that he'll be mentally traumatised and that Sam may have gone dark which makes things worse for the brothers but ARGGH I don't want their relationship to change...but season 4 sounds good already!
