Jensen AcklesI had been predicting for weeks that Dean would meet his maker in Supernatural's third season finale, so why was I so shocked and saddened when it actually happened?  Maybe it's because creator Eric Kripke gave me a kernel of hope at the beginning of the episode, then cruelly ripped it away.  Many Supernatural fans had predicted that Sam would find a way to save Dean by using his powers, and when that possibility was presented by Ruby (Katie Cassidy) I figured I knew where things were headed.  I expected some sort of last minute save, and though it would have been a bit on the deus ex machina side of things, I was ready to welcome it.  However, that didn't happen.  Sam chose not to work with Ruby due to his brother's distrust of her, and Dean ended up dying because of it.

"No Rest for the Wicked" came to an end with Dean trapped in Hell and screaming for help.  Where does the show go from here?

We love Dean just as he is...and he would hate to have Demon powers.

I think that Ruby is in Hell too and that she will help Dean escape from hell. Sam will be like a killer deamon with no remors and he will start to drink to forget the loss of his brother. He will become so angry that he will not make the difference between good and bad. When Dean will come out of hell, he will start the surch of his young brother to save his soul.

I think Sam will go Dark Side to bring Dean back & I like the idea of Dean coming out of it not completely himself. How could one go through Hell, literally, tortured & ripped apart yet not be broken? Dean's already broken to begin with. Maybe Ruby will be in Hell, too, to help Dean out (*nods to Marie*). After escaping, Dean will then have to help Sam come back to himself. Don't forget Bobby's there to help. I'm still working on Mary's part: was she one of Azazel's Chosen? Or Chosen by someone/something else whom Azazel got revenge upon by tainting Sam?

Heck, John was in hell for a year or so and he crawled out with his humanity intact (so far as we know). I think Dean will be fine, and I don't think a lot of time will pass before he's back with Sam again. Ruby's "meat suit" is currently vacant, so if Sam can conjure her smoky self up, maybe she can come back to give him a crash course in sibling revivification? However it happens, I'm certain Dean will be back sooner rather than later. I'm guessing by ep 4.3 there won't be so muich as a scar to remind us of the reason for this summer's blood pressure meds and/or the copius quantities of whiskey. Is it Sept. yet?

I think that September is going to take a long time to come and when it does it is going to be one of the best eppisodes of supernatural yet.
