Supernatural Update for a total Newbie!!!

Hello there folks

Ok... Here's my dilemma....
We are currently in Season 3 of SPN here in UK.... At the moment... I have no access to Seasons 1 or 2 other then downloading them...
Which I would appreciate links to if possible...

Ok then... three eps in... have to admit the story has got my attention... so then...
What I need from all you true SPN fans is a total sort of break down of story from beginning to end...

No need to go too technical on poor Smiley ... but the odd explanation to why I am hearing one of them is the devil incarnate... and why the other one... is about to die would be a great start!!

PS.... And what is up with that car???? LOL!!!

So then ... a bit of homework for you all....

A summing up to date of general story so far... including main characters, enemies... baddies... goodies.... etc... etc... etc....

BTW.... I have worked out so far ... that [I think] Sam is longer haired brother, Dean is shorter haired one... , they also once has a dad who may have died.... and shorter haired brother really loves his car!!!
That's it.... that's the sum total of my knowledge of the show.... but at least I am willing to give it a go!!!!

Oh yes... and I also am led to think that anyone flashing black eyes in the series is generally a bad one too and usually needs to be killed!!! So then.... How am I doing?????

Lets see.

Sam and Dean lost their mother (Sam 6 months old, Dean 4 years old) in this weird mysterious fire (mysterious as in, when the dad walked into the nursury, mommy winchester was on the ceiling with a blood soaked night dress and then she burst into flames.

The pilot starts 22 years later. The boys basically had moved around with their father who had become obessessed with finding the thing (demon) who killed his wife. Sam and Dean were trained to hunt ghosts, demons, werewolves ect since they were kids. Sam hated the life though and when he could, left to go to Stanford.

Dean shows up at Stanford telling him their father is missing and that they need to find him. The first season is Sam and Dean searching for their father (who is hunting the thing that killed their mother) and fighting ghosts, demons and other things along the way.

Also, it becomes apparent Sam has this weird visions predicting the future, but only when it has to do with the demon that killed his mom. There are other kids who have these abilities too, some of them lost their mom in a "mysterious fire" when they were six months old too.

At the end of season 1, they find their dad who has found this gun called 'The Colt' that can kill anything. There is a bit of a showdown with the demon that killed their mother, landing Dean nearly dead in the hospital.

Their dad trades his life and this gun in exchange for saving Dean to the demon that killed their mother and there is where the dead dad comes from.

So
The series starts 2. Dad is dead, Dean is emo about his dad being dead. They continue to hunt the demon that killed their mother (and now their father) and Sam still has his weirdo visions.

Before dad died though, he told Dean that he either had to save Sam or he'd have to kill him so there was all this emoness about Sam suddenly turning evil or something (because of the weirdo visions). They get in some trouble with the law and kill more demons and ghosts and stuff.

At the end of the season, the demon who killed their mom kidnaps up a bunch of these kids who have the weirdo powers (including Sam) and its like a kill American's Next Top Model because only one of them can be the kind of leader of this demonic army the demon planned to let out. Its down to Sam and Jake, Sam doesn't have the guts to kill Jake, so he just seemingly knocks him out, but Jake gets back up and stabs Sam in the back killing him.

Dean holds his brother in his arms while he dies.

Dean then (after much emoness and a heartbreaking speach) finds a (what they call) Crossroads demons and makes a deal with her. If she brings Sam back to life, she can have his soul in one year.

Sam is brought back to life.

The demon opens the gates to hell (Dad manages to get out but so do a bunch of demons) They manage to get the colt back, Dean kills the demon with it and they close the gates to hell.

Season 3 is about this war that is supposed to happen where Sam was supposed to be their leader, only he's not. They have a year to try and save Dean's life and break the deal he made with the devil and there is another really evil demon who wants to lead this arm and wants Sam's head on a platter. Also, Sam has been a little more willing to um...kill than he had been in the past.

You really should buy the first 2 seasons, you can find them quite cheap on eBay and its deffinatly worth the investment.

Stanford is a University ... right.... ok then at least one of the brothers was a bit brainy... ie...wasn't stupid...
So when you say... they moved around... were they like 'Camper Van kids' or a family that just up sticks and moved when necessary???

So then.... Dad dies... meets mum in Hell presumably!!!! Dean lives to fight another day!!!

Quick maybe unrelated question re: SPN boys... but do these boys have any other everyday jobs? I mean ... how do they keep going ... about from town to town...[I'm assuming]... killing demons and evading the laws without funds???
So this is where People get the idea that Sam... Weird dream boy... is in league with the devil cause he is a bit strange!!!
I put that down to University myself.... it makes us all go mental....
Well anyway....They keep going about their way killing demons etc... as they go!!!

That's a very scary thought.... don't quite get this bit... but I assume this is more of a ''You have to really watch this bit...to work it out''

Ok S3 is where I am now... about 3 eps in.... first ep I saw started in a church where a guy shot himself.... and Dean ..[short haired one] made a blacked eyed lass stand in a chalked out circle for a stupid length of time!!!
Ep 2 was about fairytales of an evil kind.... and Ep 3... Dean spent most of ep ... showing Sam his cars engine!!!!
So now to date.... Countdown til Dean's soul get retrived..... Sam is still having, I assume... weird dreams... so I assume is still looked upon as 'in league with the Devil''.... and both boys... sre a little more then trigger happy!!!!

I realise you haven't watched very much of SPN and S3 is probably not a good source to answer that question because Sam isn't really the Sammy we know and love right now, but: Search your heart and tell me: Are you a Dean-girl or a Sam - girl? (You are allowed to change your answer once you have fully watched S1 & 2 )

I really can't give you an answer to that one yet..... Although I can see why these two individuals appeal to all you ladies.... I am on the fence as to which of the two I would rather have about.... as to say!!! That saying though..... Smiley probably wouldn't kick either of them out of her bed for leaving crumbs between the sheets either..... So I will leave my answer for now.....
