Sometimes I wonder what exactly is going on with Cas/Castiel though.... lowly angel he may be, but yet he holds enormous power to hold off Archangel powers... I dunno.... maybe we haven't yet seen his full potential.... something doesn't quite add up with him at the moment....

Maybe he's an undercover Archangel and his true name is Gabriel!

But what would be the whole point of that.... ????.... Dean distrusts angels anyway no matter what form they come in and only tolerates Castiel cause he's the only one of them who gives him the time of day... other then that lass Anna, who comes and goes like the wind... What would be the overall point in him... (Castiel) pretending to be less then he is at all? It certainly doesn't really help the cause but rather confuses things more. Still not quite adding up. no matter how you look at it....

If they handle things the way I imagine (and why shouldn't they, after all? Huh?! Why?!!), I certainly don't think Cas or any other angel in his rank IS supposed to be able to fend off archangels normally. That's why I think it'd be so cool to see him managing it due to angel adrenaline/passion! Humans can do that, why not angels? You get enough passion behind what you're fighting for, get enough adrenaline, you can beat the odds sometimes.

Like I wrote in my scenario, I don't see him being able to completely best one. (Or, if he can, just the one.) But I imagine he could put up one hell of a fight! And I would loooooooooove to see that! Or at least know that it happened! Hell, the show would'nt even have to show it! If they were clever, they could just let us know that it happened and show us the after effects/tell us the story; that would satisfy me.

I think this is really going to be (or at least should be) a real David-and-Goliath situation.

Don't get me wrong, I love gentle, lost, conflicted, sensitive Cas to death, but I am dying to see powerful warrior Cas too! I really hope we get a nice, balanced blend from now on. I am very ready to see an ever-evolving, multi-faceted character that keeps us contiunally intrigued.

I'm soooo glad that Misha showed up for that audition! We wouldn't even have this on-going, ever-evolving character if not for him! YAY Eric and co. for not being blind to the gem that showed up for audition!

I'm still in the opinion that Cas might be quite low ranked angel, but that he can surprise the way Cookie there described. That's his strength, at least so I see - is being surprising and being capable of doing things "ex tempore". Which raises him off his normal rank and gives him ability to give one hell of a fight when no one (no other angel, I mean) expects it. Including the Archangel. I, too, can't see him winning the fight, but I want to see - or at least to know - that there was that adrenaline-rush and the fight was one hell of a kind and he exceeded himself even more than us imagined (which is probably impossible, but still ). Powerful warrior-Cas, yes, thank you . Even though I loved his complexed and worried looks, I also want to see him getting back that self-assurance and self-confidence he had in the beginning of the season.

Thumbs up

Howdy, suzie! Always great to see ya here! Right, suzie! Actually, in thinking carefully, if we want to truly compare an an adrenaline-and-passion-fueled lower-ranking angel fight to a weaker human fighting a stronger one, he COULD win! It's just that Cas described archangels as having "absolute" power (I think that's how he phrased it). So, the show probably wouldn't let him win against it. Unless they wanted to shock us and show us that, given enough "angel adrenaline," passion and determination, even a lower-ranked angel can best an archangel. Hmm. That would be awesome, as well.

But, in my vision, even if he loses, he BARELY loses. I imagine him giving that arch one hell of a run for its money. I imagine it being shocked at Cas's fight and having to fight like hell to win against him.

From what the show/Misha has given us from the start, Cas has always seemed to radiate an impression of having enormous power that he keeps calmly restrained. People go on and on about him getting his ass kicked (and Misha cracked me the hell up talking about it at the cons), but, as I've said before, those were special circumstances in which he was overwhelmed and vulnerable. The Cas we saw at the end of the finale was a newly-determined, passionate Cas. He had chosen his path and his leader. This is a Cas we haven't seen since, I guess, "Are You There . . .?" And he must be even more confident now than he was then, plus full of passion and pain. Oooh, cannot wait to see Cas next season!!!

Heyja, Cookie! You and your rambling here is one of the reasons for me to come here . Yes, Cas has this enormous, unbelievable power in him - but so have other angels too. So if I give an impression I don't think he has such power, it's a false impression - I only mean that comparing to other angels, especially someones like Archangels or his superiors, his powers ain't that enormous. But to us they are, of course .

Somehow I don't want him to win (don't shoot me ...). But that is only because I want that "helluva fight" which surprises and shocks the arch 'cause he never expected anything like that - and I want to see Cas convincing the arch to their side, to Winchester's side. It would be an awesome scene there: Cas being undaunted even if beaten, not given up even though there's nothing more to do than just to speak, just to try to make the arch understand, to convince the arch. Still being determined and righteous and "ready to die" for the cause even if the death and defeat seems inevitable, inescapable and unavoidable. Cas being so sure that what he doing is not only right but the only way to follow.

Why, thank ya, suzie! Whatever gets you here works for me!

Ah, so you like my lil' Cas vs. arch scenario, I see! Yay! Yeah, Cas getting an arch on his/the world's side would be 10 kinds of awesome!!

Whether he almost wins or actually wins, I hope the fight happens & that he's awesome in it!!

Damn, we've talked so much about that whole arch vs. Cas fight, that it is almost impossible for me to imagine it wouldn't happen at all after all ...
