Supernatural: Episode 3.9 "Malleus Maleficarum: Recap

It's been a long wait, but now Supernatural fans can once again get their fill of those dashing Winchester brothers. The show returns tonight to finish out the season with four brand new episodes. In a show of support from the network that rivals the decision not to air reruns after these four weeks, the CW is bringing the show back against the fourth season premiere of Lost.

But for now, let's try to put visions of polar bears out of our heads to focus on tonight's Supernatural episode, “Malleus Maleficarum,” which I believe is an incantation used by the Death Eaters to restore Voldemort's power. Don't tell me you weren't thinking the exact same thing.

Some established mythology just went out the window! The Colt has no effect on Demon Missy!
A HUMAN can turn INTO a demon in hell? A NEW Demon King arising! LOTS of things to make our heads spin!
Finally a reason to accept Ruby too, though I still don't think the part was well cast.

This episode made my head spin, but in a good way. I just wonder what's really going on with Ruby. I love to hate that character, because I don't care what she said to Dean. She's up to something, and it's definitely no good.

Oh man...this epi just screws with you. I can't believe the colt did nothing. A new demon king? And Ruby was Human? Man...it's getting to be so you can't get anything straight. Still...at last...a new SPN epi! And next week, it looks like we'll be getting into the Dean turning Demon part, at least for Sammy...

Wow, I was so underwelmed by this episode! I expected so much more for the returning episode. I really, really wish they'd kill off Ruby and get on with the story of Sam and Dean. I love Supernatural but this episode I'd have to rate as one of the worst of this season. Not enough brotherly moments, hell, not enough Sam and Dean!

I really liked this one, it opens the doors to so much and makes you think...hum what cleaver little bag of goodies does Kripke really have up his sleeve...now with everything completely blown out of the water all I can do it sit back put my feet up and enjoy the ride

I really liked this one too. Even enjoyed the Ruby moments. Can't wait to see what's next.

This episode totally rocked! It grabbed your attention from the get go and never let up. There were some great brother moments and I even enjoyed the Ruby scenes. I think that the episode was well written and really intense. Jensen and Jared did a fantastic job(as always) and even Katie Cassidy's performance tonight was dead on. I thought that the Dean and Ruby scenes were especially telling. It was really cool to see Sam's desperation and determination to save his brother from the spell.This episode was classic Supernatural with a great story,fantastic acting,awesome(although sometimes gross)special effects and superb directing. I give it 2 enthusiastic thumbs up. Keep em coming Kripke!

The colt works, it just so happens the demon was faster and stopped the bullet. The YED had managed to not get hit by the colt's bullets either. It happens.

They've opened an interesting door. All demons were humans once. I mean *all*? So the YED too?

I enjoyed this episode but I think I wanted Ruby to be evil and have an agenda with Sam. Now Ruby is kind of this lost soul who is a demon but still remembers how to be human....well I don't know, she's *too* human or something. I hope this is just one of her ways of leading us on or something. I still want her to be evil and badass.
