This was the first episode of the season that disappointed me. The story got really short shrift, and I'm afraid I can't even pretend to like Bela. I adore Ruby, but Lauren Cohan is not doing it for me as Bela at all. I had an extremely open mind about her, which is why I'm so disappointed. She gave me a Scooby doo vibe with the brothers that unnerved me, and I was under the impression she was going to be a heartless b*tch, not a bitch with a sob story and a heart of gold? Cliché from hell. If she disappears after the strike, I won't miss her. Aside from some hilarious moments with Gertie all over Sam, the cougar references and Dean hyperventilating over his car, the episode was not greater than the sum of its parts. The last scene was what saved it. Dean literally disappearing when Sam is begging him to give a damn about himself brought a tear to my eye. Problem is, they could have skipped all that came before. Bela's the female character that was forced on Kripke by the network and it shows. Big time. I'm glad other people enjoyed it, though.

Is it me ....but it seems like there are two different paths to Supernatural this season. The one where fans are happy with the new regular girls...and the one where they hate the new girls or at least one of them ...and fans seem divided on liking the new season 3...or hating the new season 3. A DIVIDED SHOW is not a good sign...because it becomes a fork at the end of the yellow brick road.

Whoa--I don't hate season three. Far from it. I just don't like Bela much. I don't think she was well cast. A beautiful black or Asian woman would have fit the part much better.

The season just seems off. The episodes are inconsistent. Last week we had a great episode and this week the episode was choppy and dull.

Don't like Bela nor care much for Ruby but at least Ruby serves a purpose and while Katie Cassidy can't act her way out of a paper bag, the character is only on for a few minutes at a time thus she's not as intolerable to deal with.

I'm disappointed b/c I had such hopes for Bela. Lauren Cohan is so beautiful, why did the character have to be written so badly and acted in such a mediocre way? Trying to shoehorn Bela into the show has not worked.

You can blame Dawn Ostroff for that. She insisted on the second female character. Kripke pretty much said that straight out in his TV Guide, and Ellen wasn't an option for the network. You know, broads over 35 are soooooo useless.

I loved the humor, i'm okay with Bela, not wow but still willing to see what she's got going on... like who did she kill and why? and I love the boys car talks... they so much more than just the words coming out of their mouths...

thats why I hate all the hollywood bs. Real people like shows because how the story is well written and well cast. Its about chemistry whether it be between two brothers or two enemies. Thats why people love and still see shows from the past...and these shows go on forever...like I LOVE LUCY, THE BRADY BUNCH, BEWITCHED, HAPPY DAYS, MASH,MAMAS HOUSE...GOOD TIMES,ONE DAY AT A TIME, LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY...HAPPY DAYS...THE LIST CAN GO ON....and even at the movies...the hits have been about chemistry between people...like Star wars...lord of the Rings. Its not about girls who are young pretty and have big boobs and tight jeans...or people who cant act like Paris Hilton...its not about making easy money with junkie reality shows. Hollywood has become so distorted from the past and like people in politics they dont know how to produce quality stuff anymore. 35 yr old women dont have a chance in t.v. land anymore. Thats why I have no happy feelings about the major networks. If I had a magic

I guess I'm the only person who thought Gert was a very pretty woman. I was disappointed that the writers wrote her as a sleazy person who made Sam uncomfortable. I didn't think it was the age difference that made Sam uncomfortable as much as it was her behavior. I wish she had been written as classy and intelligent. I still am undecided about Bela. I really don't know what to think of her, and I don't know if I am glad to see her on the show. And who cares about her backstory, I'd much rather hear/see Bobby's backstory. GORDON'S COMING BACK! YAY! He is the best villain.
