The ratings are down compared to last season though and this season is really dull without the boys investigating horror together. The new girls can't act and don't make the story any better AFAIAC. I want them off my show now. I'm not a chick-hater either, I liked the casey girl but this show isn't about one thousand and one guest stars it's about the Winchester brothers and I'm not getting that at the moment. Agree that Jensen was great, he always is when he gets good material. So let's see more!

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | It was my understanding the ratings were about the same from last year but I can't really find any source to compare it. And that's very subjective to say the show has been dull because I think it has be *far* from it. So I guess thats just one opinion against the other. And as for the one thousand and one guest stars, I'd hardly call Bobby, Gordon, Ruby and Bela one thousand and one. But if you're talking about the weekly guest stars, there have ALWAYS been weekly guests so that statement doesn't even make sense. Jared and Jensen work every day a week when they're working on Supernatural, 14-15 hours a day. So what if they throw in a couple other actors to give the boys a break? As much as we would all love to be slave drivers and make Sam and Dean be in every single scene, fleshing out the Supernatural universe gives us a chance to meet new characters and to give the boys a little break here and there. I don't think that's asking to much. If you don't believe me, go into the BuddyTV forum: Supernatural section and read the interview with Jensen Ackles where he was talking about how long their hours are and how much he envies other show leads (like Matthew Fox) because they work 2-3 days a week and get to spend time with their family. Our boys don't get that. They work SO hard, the least we could do is not throw fits because they're adding in a couple character to ease their screen time a little bit. Ruby and Bela haven't had very much screen time, a few scenes, so I really don't see what the big deal is there. And once again saying their bad actors is subjective. I haven't had a problem with them and I really think people are just looking for reasons to hate them. Anyway they're here for the season, my best advise is to either get over it and enjoy the show or stop watching. Complaining is just bringing it down for everyone else.

You can find the past rating on wikipedia under "supernatural tv series" if you go to the seasons and click on any of them (1,2 or 3) it will take you to that page & it list all the ratings from season 1 to present. The ratings are pretty much the same. It's up a little from the last seasons finales but not by much. It seems "chickgate" is not helping. I will never understand how adding "hot chicks" is supposed to help a show, especially when their main audience is females??

hey anonymous, it's easy to understand why they put hot chicks in when the audience is mostly female. To ATTRACT MORE MALES! as you pointed out the ratings are the same, and thats with a female majority. They figure if they add a few hot chicks then more guys will watch and up goes the ratings. nothing has changed yet but give it time.

I find both characters of Ruby and Bela interesting. Bela is different and unique, unlike anything we've seen before and in small doses can cause a lot of problems and aggravation for the Winchesters. I really don't mind Lauren in this role. Again, different. Ruby is also very interesting with a different agenda. The problem is that in order for Ruby to be believable as a menacing, powerful, antagonistic demon she needs a new host body -- perhaps next time demon!Ruby can possess the body of an actress who has the maturity & experience to properly convey that initimidating demon persona. Ruby needs a new host body! I hear Casey's body is now available
