Default 'Supernatural' Episode 3.02

Supernatural The Kids Are AlrightSupernatural producers had to be holding their breath last week with the introduction of the much reviled new character of Ruby (Katie Cassidy).  Fans have been pre-hating, the press has been pre-hating, and Dawn Ostroff is no doubt already sharpening the CW axe, so success was somewhat crucial.  As it was, the intro was just a teaser - albeit a wedged in teaser with a thoroughly comic snarl -  which gave fans every reason to say “We’ll give her some more time.”  Well, episode two is upon us, and if you like spoilers, you might get a slightly sinking feeling about how Ruby plays into episode two.

*deep breath*

I'm still saying lets wait and see. Don't let me down, Kripke.

Default 3.02

I want to give the show a chance to recapture my interest like S1 and S2 did but, if the rest of the season is as un-Supernatural as the opener was I really don't know what I will do. It's like Kripke & co. took everything that made the show great and rewired it or something. I can't even be happy about having the boys back cause now it feels like they've been moved to the backseat of the Impala to make room for the new cast.

Go ahead and hate me now..But here I go!

I'm sorry not buying that two new girls! 2 reasons.

1. Ruby looked like a cracked out Barbie
2. Bella, oh please her we go another Barbie who is going to act all tuff!

When will they learn? If you want girls to be able to hold there own, then dont go out and get Barbie's dolls! Get normal everyday woman.

i dont know what to think i guess im still waiting but this season still seems different from the last two somehow. NOt sure if it`s good different or bad different....

Why bring on two new girls, I know how about they make Bobby and Ellen part of the main character cast. What they did right with Bobby and Ellen was take they time in add what little of them they have.
The crap I have read about Ruby and Bella is that they are going to be showing the mugs to much to begin with. I could run with it, if they where maybe in two or three episode, but that not the case.
Im sorry but its a little screwed up if we want to see SPN go on we have to like the girls.

Wait and see, wait and see... Someday judgment day has to arrive. It's possible the roles are interesting, but are they twelve episodes each worth of interesting? Get them their own show, then. Or please at least cast more inventively.

I don't know. I got an extremely...crowded...feel from the last episode. I'd really like Kripke to remember who the show is about, here. Plus, if they're going to be reducing Sam to a Chosen One and Dean to skeezy comic relief, like we saw in the premiere, I may not be able to stand it much longer.

What really annoys me is that you guys hate the girls because they're pretty. I mean seriously, looking frumpy dosen't mean you can fight better than someone who looks like a 'barbie doll'. how rude is that? besides, as long as Ruby kicks ass, Bela becomes the outright !@#!@ that she's supposed to be (*ahem* with no love interest to cause complications of course), and they don't turn into out right mary sues, I'll be fine with them

Jon, Jon, Jon... oops! you did it again! Feeding in to that media frenzy of misinformation. Both Kripe and Singer have adamantly stated: NO LOVE INTERESTS. So why are you busy fanning the flame and riling up the fandom? Wasn't the summer freak-out bad enough that now you have to help start it all over again? Even we, who headed letter-writing campaigns in the summer, are willing to view this season with an open mind. Sure we didn't like the idea of RuBela, and we're still apprehensive, but that doesn't mean that we can't give it a chance. If it doesn't work then the same thing will happen to them that happened with Jo. We'll see them, if we decide we hate them, we'll scream bloody murder and by the time we return from winter hiatus... they'll be dealt with.

I believe the majority of fans ARE willing to "give them time" and give Kripke the benefit of the doubt, especially after everything he has said in numerous interviews lately. One thing is very clear, ANY character that pulls a No Exit (i.e. takes the majority of screen time and the focus away from the Winchesters) will be salt-n-burned by the fandom faster than you could say "christo!" Let's hope we can at least keep an open mind before screaming bloody murder.

Knowing the spoilers up to epi 9... I have a feeling in that context what ever connection Ruby has with Sam will not be as far fetched as it seems... I'll say no more, but to the non spoiled folks... have faith, really. I may be looking at the girls with a wary eye, but at the same time, I'm seeing episode sides that look so awesome that they could leave season 1 and 2 in the dust...

It's been only one episode so far, so we'll have to wait and see. However, I'm not being too optimistic here. Kripke said, they'd be inserted slowly, but, NOT! Then he said, they won't be love interests, but MAYBE!. Then he said he learned from the Jo and Roadhouse fiasco, but the only thing he seemed to have learned is, if he shoves the two characters down our throats fast enough we won't be able to protest since we're chocking on them and he can just pretend we're speechless with awe.

So, for me, I may watch a few more, but it does seem this show has gone from the unique to the mediocre. Jensen and Jared were the two golden geese that made this show work. You're not going to find something like that again Kripke and you're destroying the ones you got.

The fact that the introduction of Ruby didn't bring the awesome ratings you expected should be a ringing bell. Are you listening Kripke?

How much slower do you want the characters inserted? Ruby was barely there in Ep 1. She did next to nothing and then disappeared. What do you want, one frame per episode until you've gotten used to them enough they can have enough time to say hello? Please. Kripke said no love interest unless the fans want it, unless there's chemistry and a spark. The show can get it right with the female characters-Sarah from Provenance is a perfect example. Quit being so doom and gloom so much that you can't even see the episodes for the flaws you've already decided will be there. I'm with whoever stated above that this is a sad little article. Jon, don't feed the flames. It's lame and doing nothing for the show.

Guys, please, chill out. This guy's stirring the waters and fanning out the misinformation. I mean, really, who're you gonna believe, this man or Eric Kripke--with his history of being receptive to what the fans and the story both want BY GETTING RID OF JO AND THE ROADHOUSE???? Let the proof speak for itself, and HAVE FAITH. Sheesh.
