I loved What is and What Should Never Be. It was so out of the box i think for all the characters involved. Dean who is quite snarky was just the opposite in that episode. Jensen was so great at acting it all out too. You could really see how much pain it was for him to leave the AU and how much he wold have loved to stay even if it meant not having a relationship with Sammy like he had.

The nods to the pilot episode were also a plus.

Yeah I agree. I just adored that episode. You should give it another watch, Lila, see if you still feel indifferent about it.

I think I figured out what my personal problem with What is... is: I watch SN mostly for the pretty boys shooting supernatural beings with rock salt angle. It's more of a fun show to me, I tend not to get too emotional about it. Maybe that's why I could not get that much into that specific ep.

That makes sense. I watch the show for the overall package. But Dean is so pretty when he's being emo! LOL.

I watch for the overall package too. I love the emotional episodes just as much as the fun ones probably more.

Yeah I love episodes like Tall Tales, but What is and what should never be is my favorite episode so far and that was pretty emotional (although Dean mowing the lawn was too cute for words)

I love any scenes where they is actually light...lol. Supernatural is always so dark. It's nice to see sunshine every once in a while

Yeah, everything is SN seems to be dark and grey and dusty. Surely fits the theme of the show but also seems like a world without colors. Even strong, normally bright colors like red sometimes look like just another shade of grey.
