Hi there~ Sorry for the late reply! I've been kind of et by real life .... Anyhow, I don't know if the book is on general release in the UK or not. I think not yet, perhaps the publisher is waiting to see how initial sales go. Definitely Jim would love to come over there on tour, but the trick all along has been his publisher's unwillingness to send him on a large (expensive) book tour, unless they think it will garner big sales. Which, yeah, sending him on tour WOULD garner those sales, but the company is not willing to take big risks. So, again, it's kind of on how the book sells, and how well grass roots promotions help. He'd LOVE to do oodles of tours! He just hasn't gotten his publisher's blessing yet to do so. Darn them. Thanks for asking, and THANK YOU for reading!Cheers ~ Erin | |

| Hey all ~ First, I want to offer my thanks to everyone who has done SO much to help support and promote "Life's That Way." Your comments and kindness to Jim have been awesome, your reviews are lovely, and your efforts have done so much. On Jim's Facebook, I've read stories of such loss, heartache, survival and hope as to bring tears to my eyes. It's wonderful to know his story has touched so many so deeply. Knowing, then, what this book means to us, it's time to see if we can gird our loins (or are we girding lions?) one more time. That is, can folks please contact some radio shows? He's been doing great on them, and the more people his message of hope reaches, the more awesome it would be! Here's some contact info for us: Terri Gross, Fresh Air, email at talkback@whyy.org Also: Any of the pertinent shows on NPR (Fresh Air, Talk of the Nation, All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Weekend Edition Saturday, Weekend Edition Sunday, Weekend All Things Considered). To submit the story idea to any or all of these shows, use the form at http://help.npr.org/ics/support/defa...70&task=ticket . Fill out the form, select "Submit A Program Idea" from the drop-down menu, and select the show(s) you wish to submit the idea for. You can do it once for each of the shows if you like. Some airplay on any or all of these would be almost as good as national TV exposure. Also, a very influential show is Larry Mantle's Airtalk. There's a form people can fill out, selecting that show, at http://www.publicradio.org/applicati...e=d2ca8b972bee Please---make note of the positive, uplifting, helpful, and humorous aspects of the book, as there's a great deal of resistance to covering a "sad" book. There you go, folks! Again, thank you so much for all you've done. You are the wind beneat this book's wings. Cheers ~ Erin |

I promise I will post a review on Amazon, as soon as life quietens down a bit after next weekends Con and my pending house move!!! I really did enjoy it though.... read it through in about a day!!! Believe me, that is good going for me, normally, I tend to put books down because of life's interference and never get back to them for ages afterwards.... but with that one, I read it through til the last 30 or so pages without a break and then had to get to sleep!!! I read the rest first thing next morning, still in bed, curled up!!! I would definitely spread the good word to all here about his book, should he ever come over this way for a book tour!!!

| For the record, I ordered it on amazon too, it already arrived, but I didn't have time to read it so far. But I am looking forward to reading it when things calm down a bit. It would have been awesome if Jim had been at the con and I could have gotten it signed.

| Howdy, fellow Supernatural fans! You guys know that I'm big on promoting Jim Beaver's memoir, "Life's That Way." Initially I did it as a cancer survivor and because Jim's a good guy, but having read it, it's become something deeply personal, for me. And really, I've seen so many others likewise moved, there's no telling how wide the ripples have flowed from the simple act of people sharing with others how LTW has touched them. That's making a difference, guys. For goodness' sake, this book has earned 4 out of 4 stars in People Magazine, and it's on the Boston Globe's "Books to Read this Summer" list! w00t! But it deserves an appearance on a greater stage, and this is where I'm asking you wonderful folks for help, once more. With my friend, Jane, we've gathered info for another grassroots effort by fans, and that is a BIG push to get this book noticed on The Oprah Winfrey Show. How do we do that? As Jane posted: At Oprah.com, there's a message board community. They have some strict rules about no outside URLs or advertising, per se, but it strikes me that some fans of the book might be able to get a conversation going in the Oprah community that might translate into some attention by the show itself. And in any event, it might generate some interest in the book. You have to register with Oprah.com to post messages in the boards, but that's pretty simple. To find the boards, I think this link will work directly. http://www.oprah.com/community/commu...4NaxeKaN8La3z0 If it doesn't, then just go to Oprah.com and click the Community link at the top right. - So, that's the deal. Jane has started a discussion thread, here: http://www.oprah.com/community/thread/111509 But feel free to start your own! If those who have read "Life's That Way" can get some discussion going, if we can share our thoughts and personal stories, we have the power to move others and maybe make something wonderful happen. Y'all have done awesome at this, so far. Will you take just a little more time to offer your thoughts, share your review, speak a few words from the heart? It would mean a lot to me, and I know Jim would be pretty tickled, too. Thanks, everyone! Cheers ~ Erin |

| Okay, I think I need a sales pitch with a little more heart. Here goes.Jim Beaver's book, "Life's That Way," is an endeavor of tremendous personal importance to him. People, in this memoir, he has plunked a large chunk of his soul splat on a plate, and handed it to his readers. He's opened the windows of his heart to let us view the very lowest point in his life. And he welcomes us to share in his journey and thereby learn a little something about ourselves, and about the greatness of human love and generosity. Well, today that good man kissed his baby girl goodbye, and hopped on a plane for Vancouver. I'd reckon that's one lonely daddy, going off to give us our gruff, growly, awesome Bobby Singer. Oh, Jim loves his work, loves what he does, of course! But don't you think it would be amazing if we, his fans, could give something back to him? This is our chance to make a difference in someone else's life. So I'm asking you, please, if you have read "Life's That Way," please take the time to help us bring it to the attention of Oprah Winfrey. Can we make it happen? Hell, I dunno. But we can try. So come on, let's pitch in, lend a little while of our time, and give it a go. So please, if you have not already done so, consider lending a little of your time to help us boost "Life's That Way" to the attention of Oprah Winfrey. If we succeed, it would be a brilliant stroke for us, and a gift to a good man who's been so kind to us. Thank you for reading! Cheers ~ Erin |

| There are only 2 US citizens who are regularly on this board. I don't think it would make that much sense for European people to write to Oprah, would it?
