As much as we girlies would like an endless stream of naked Sam & Dean... It doesn't overstep that... Love scenes are minimally done... just enough to add what is needed to the story...

I also wasn't a Dean girl right from the start, it took me until Scarecrow to absolutely fall for him. What did it was the comment about Sam's puppy dog eyes and how the couple that was about to be sacrificed would absolutely believe him, I felt so sorry for Dean. And of course "I hope your apple pie is freaking worth it", the way Jensen delivered this line with so much disdain and despair was just awesome.

I swear you must read minds. Honestly, I kinda thought Dean was a jerk when the show first started, but then you start to realize that it's all a front. What really was the tie-breaker for me as far as liking the Dean character was is sarcastic sense of humor, I love it!

You know, I've often wondered how actors and actresses handle that kind of thing. I mean, when people are like "I love you Dean!" I wonder if he's really thinking, "My NAME is Jensen, dork-wad." or something like that. That would seriously drive me nuts, I think.

I think now I like jensen for wath we know about him, too. And I would like to know him better. But you're rigth, and that probably makes it even harder for actors and actrisses when the fame is over. But they seemed pretty clear about the busines they're in. About Jensen hotness, he really is the male type I like, more so then Jared (I think I all ready said that before!) The jawline, the eyes, the body, even his legs, witch he complains about once! And also his shyness, in a different way than dean, it also provokes me to give him a hug.

Well, in those first few mins in the pilot he was a serious jerk. The way he came on to his brother's girlfriend "I love the smurfs" - now I think it's just endearing Dean, but back then it wasn't so endearing.
I think another reason I like him so much is that he is an ordinary guy in extraordinary circumstances. I like the "chosen one" storyline as well as the next person, but I'm also very into into regular people coming to terms with overwhelming things that are thrown their way. Not that Dean is really a regular guy, it's just that he doesn't have some mysterious innate ability, like so many other heroes, like Sam, Buffy, or Luke Skywalker.
So - and I'm obviously repeating myself here - it really didn't bother me, that Dean wasn't tied into the mythology story arc so far.
( I don't know if you read this post of mine http://forums.buddytv.com/supernatur...ml#post1220372)

Yeah, I wonder that too. On the other hand he must have known what he has gotten into, I'm sure Tom Welling has his fair share of crazy fans, and Jensen must have been able to witness that.

It's very little we know about him, but I have the feeling that one could have good, serious, in depth conversations about many topics with him, which appeals to me.

Well, even Kripke said that during the first season, they were all just kind of trying to get a feel for the characters, and as the seasons go on, you can see where Jensen is really starting to get comfortable with his character, and he's starting to branch out a little more. Honestly, I think we have too many shows about extraordinary people, rather than ordinary people, b/c let's face it most of us are pretty ordinary and we deal with sometimes extraordinary things...I think that is one of Dean's strongest connection points with the audience. He's real.

I've often wondered if Welling get's tired of the little kids in the stores..."Look mommy, it's Superman!" I don't know, I guess that would be sort of endearing for a dude. I guess in a way both Dean and Sam are the darker side of Superman...hmmm.

I dunno about this one cause, I can honestly say that I don't know a young kid over by me here that actually watches Smallville... My son isn't that interested in it at all, which surprises me a bit cause he normally likes Superheroes...
In fact, I have got him Smallville S1 to see if he will get into it from the very beginning!
Alot more of his mates are into SPN though, because maybe in a way the stories are a little bit more believable yet scary for them and therefore, maybe the boys come across more real to kids as Superman does... AJ said words to this effect when we were chatting about Smallville a few weeks back!

Let me know how he likes it! I've got a few friends who say that they're kids like it, but come to think of it that makes sense that it might not have enough flash-bang to keep a kid's attn. I can see where a boy might like SPN. Gore...action...monsters...sometimes a hot chick...yeah, makes sense.

I think there's a difference between little kids essentially admiring the cartoon character and crazy fangirls of all ages telling you they love you. At least the little kids don't make online pleas to you show's creator for more topless scenes. Although no one can accuse SV of doing too little topless, in the 15 eps of S4 I've seen so far Tom and even Jensen are topless at least once per ep.

Simply from a "technical" POV Smallville can't deny its cartoon origin and the colours the show is shot in alone and the colours of the clothing of the main characters are much brighter.
But Sam and Dean being the darker side of Superman? I don't think so? Care to elaborate?

I think the thinking kid, which AJ certainly is, can't associate oneself as easily with Superman as with Dean - the regular guy who happens to be supercool, superwitty and gets the job done - as we have discussed in other threads.

Another thing I've thinking about Jensen: I've read he's a very religeous man, It should be interesting to know how he feels about the mythology in the show, and about how they picture Hell

Where did you read that, do you have a link?
I agree, religious beliefs are a fascinating topic per se and I love to discuss it and it would be interesting to discuss it with Jensen - although given how most Americans react to my opinions he probalby would bail on me after 30 seconds.
