Papa Winchester?

Okay so I'm trying to do a poll, don't know if it's gonna work or not. Anyway, I've noticed some mixed feelings surrounding John Winchester and the way he raised his boys, just curious what you all thought.

where is the poll? I think he did the best he knew how under the circumstances. He knew that no matter what he did he couldn't protect them from some things so he did his best to teach them how to survive.

I agree. I've seen a lot of people who've bad mouthed daddy, so I thought I'd do a poll. I think John trully loves his boys and did the best he could and maybe it wasn't always enough but he did what he could and taught them how to protect themselves so what happened to Mary wouldn't happen to them.

Plus we really don't know a lot about his parenting because we only see what happens after they are grown with the exception of a few flashbacks and some of Sam and Dean's comments. Let's face it kid's can always find negative things to say about their parents so Sam and Dean's accounts of things can maybe be a bit over exaggerated.

Thats very true. I imagine Sam embellishes the bad things their father did and Dean downplays them so the truth is somewhere there in the middle. I would like to see more of their past *cough*andmoreJDM*cough*.

I would too. I would love for them to find some way to bring him back. I would also love to see Meg again ...maybe she can be released with all the demons that escaped in the finale....

I do too i am so exhausted.

Stupid work. I'm heading up in like two minutes. It would be interesting to bring Meg back. I'd like them to bring Jo back, but not for a little while. I think she needs to grow up a little before she kind of steps back into Sam and Dean's world.

They need to get Joss Whedon to come help them work on their women characters because Joss really know how to write powerful female characters that aren't annoying as all hell. Zoe for instance, or Faith.

He just has a way with female characters. He knows how to write and develope them. Supernatural seems to have a problem creating likable female characters. Part of it is the fandom that wants Sam and Dean to do each other, but part of it is the characters and how they are written.
