"Studio 60"When this past TV season began, NBC, the critics and anyone who follows television put big money on the success of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Writer Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up to The West Wing, the show boasted some of the finest behind-the-scenes talent working in TV today, combined with an all-star cast. Friends star Matthew Perry, The West Wing’s Bradley Whitford, and hot young movie starlet Amanda Peet took the leads, flanked by a cast of very familiar faces to TV viewers. It was destined to become the breakout hit of the year.

Or not. The show died a long time ago, but it's taken until now tor NBC to burn off the last episodes.  Tonight, NBC airs the series finale of Studio 60 after a tumultuous year of episode cutbacks, chronic rescheduling and an increasing apathy towards Aaron Sorkin’s attempts to find a distinct voice for the show.

Sorry to see it go. I never thought it was as good as The West Wing (or even Sportsnight) but I've enjoyed the episodes so far.

Truly a sad night...Studio 60 is one of the best written shows I have seen on television. America is stupid for not watching it, and NBC is even more stupid for not giving it another chance.

This was a brilliant show! It never treated its viewers like we were imbeciles. Every episode was rich with controversy, drama and very well-laid one-liners. It would be irreverent and brutal in one scene, then deferential and gentle in another, while always stirring in playfulness. I still have hope for its return. Some may have not been ready for a show which would challenge their beliefs and allegiances in every way but Studio 60's viewers are!

Bah, this show shouldn't have been cancelled. It was on my short list of favorites and I'm going to miss it.

This really p$#@?{!!sses me off!! With the strength of some really strong writing and a kick as group, this show had all the potential of quick wit, loyalty, creative genius, dysfunctional relationships etc, etc, and once again the American public has shown their mediocrity in not finding this show a gem amongst the many others that should have died.

This speaks not to the producers, writers of the show, but to the audience for not gearing up their listening and viewing to a level that might benefit themselves rather than speak to the mundane level that they are so entrenched in.

This is truly embarassing!!!!

Keep it up America!!!

Great show -- should have let it find its viewers -- it would have.

the best written and acted dram (by far) on TV this season' DL Hughley showed superb acting chops, clearly belying his dramatic talent; both Matt Perry (adeptly shedding his Chandler personna) and Bradley Whitford have done their best work - surpassing Friends and WW, respectively. Sarah Paulson stands out as one of TV's best actresses today. And adjectives fail to describe the lovely and talented Amanda Peet, among others. Sadly, the original time slot was ludicrous, not giving the audience a chance to see the drama grow and prosper. Friday nights would have been better, if episodes were veiwed consecutively and without the hiatus. What was NBC thinking (it wasn't, which is why it finishes in 4th place. I am going to miss this probably more than I have missed any show in years. Thankfully, the season will be released in October on DVD and it will be on my player numerous times, as re-watching episodes on my tivo proved immensely enjoyable. Thanks to Aaron Sorkin for his (continuing)in
