i agree. and no matter how bad her charecter gets, she has been practically the routes, of the show, so it would kill the show if they took her off!

I totally disagree! She has not been the roots of the show... most people just like her for her beauty-- and sometimes that's just not enough to make a character! I think she will stay for the show--- but I don't think that her leaving would hurt the show at all... Chloe leaving on the other hand would completely destroy the show--- she is in the middle of every bizzare and wierd thing that happens in smallville---and if you recall this line "smallville, home of the wierd" is used more than once in every season... Chloe does all the investigative reporting--or most of it now that Lois Lane is in teh picture... the only thing they show about lana is her many love-stories--- smallville shouldn't be a love-soap opera... we have enough daytime soaps for that. The only time Lana's character was exciting was when she was dating Jason and the whole witch story-- that was actually cool!!!

it would be cool if lana was a witch again in this new eason but i know thats noy gonna happen,and i love her.

Lana can't die. If you go back to he first movie, the current Martha Kent plays her and runs into Clark at their high school reunion. She may not be on the show anymore but there's no way she could be dead.

enjoy this spoiler loooool lana will be back but apparantly it will be something to do with cloning. lex luther sent his people to china to go and find someone and apparatly dat person could be lana.

lana will definitely be back..and no, I don't think it will be cloning! She did not die during that explosion---the van passed at the exact moment the explosion happened--- I think she faked her own death--or Lionel had to do with it--- but I'm just guessing here!

The Lana Clark relationship is an important element to the whole 'Smallville' series. Many of the female viewers enjoy the spatterings of romance. They have great chemistry together.

In a previous episode Lana said to clark the only way she would ever get away form Lex is if she died. She plotted the whole thing so lex can get the blame and he thinks she is dead...just so she can come back and show him up later...the timing truck passing by was too perfect

Jokerman2681 and cecil44; I have to agree with both of you. The timing of that truck passing by was just too perfect. But I don't think Lionel had anything to do with it. Lana has been around the Luthers long enough to pick up some tricks and connections of her own to pull this off. Besides Lionel was just as shocked as we were. He was alone in that alley with Lana so why put on a show of emotion if no one was there to see it. I think he was kept in the dark like the rest of us.

Actually that is true Batfan114. Lionel did act completely shocked--- his expression was one in a million! But my theory here was that maybe he did that to protect Clark--- and Lana. Because if Lex found out that Lana left him for Clark, he would go after Clark with a vengeance. In some bizzare way, Lionel has been known to trick anyone to get his way... this was one very fragile moment for clark...what with the phamtom and all. The only way Clark would have gone jumping on Lex's throat was if Lionel convinced him that Lana died...and with Lex out of the way (in jail), Clark, Lionel and the matian manhunter can stop the whole human generic engineering that Lex was doing. On the other hand, it's quite true, Lana is a "match" for Lex--- capable of pulling such a stunt on her own to perfection!
