Laura VandervoortThere hasn't been a second of film shot for Smallville's upcoming eighth season, but we've already been discussing the shake-ups behind the scenes for months.  We've known for quite some time that Michael Rosenbaum and Kristin Kreuk wouldn't be returning full-time next year, and last week we reported that Allison Mack waited until the last minute to sign on for season 8.  With all of that excitement going on, it appears that another major Smallville departure got overlooked.  Actress Laura Vandervoort, who plays Supergirl on the CW series, recently told TV Guide that she also won't be back as a series regular next season.

}YES YES YES!! This is the best Smallville season 8 news I've heard yet! This is even more exciting than Chloe coming back. I'm so happy she's gone! I'm EXTATIC!! She was fugly, she couldn't act and seriously she brought absolutely NOTHING to the show. You could tell the writers/producers were struggling to integrate her into the story line. Good riddance I say! Stick to straight to DVD movies Laura Vanderfoot!

Ha! Wow, someone's excited. I have to say, from seeing her on the show I really doubt they cast her for her acting ability.

Smallvillefotw i am sorry to report that Laura Vandervoort is very gorgeous, she did really well on the show and she brought more excitement to the show. more heritage for Clark kent. I believe that this is a terrible move for the producers and she is going to be in more then the straight to dvd movies.

naley23 you're a Brucas fan so I understand why your thinking is so skewed. I'm sorry to say that you clearly weren't watching the same Smallville that I was. She doesn't hold a candle to Kristen's beauty or acting skills. She didn't earn her place in the opening credits the way other guest stars did like John Glover, Erica Durance or Aaron Ashmore did. It seems to be a pattern in Smallville though. With Jensen Ackles, he made it straight to the opening credits when he was first brought in in season 4 and he left after one season. Maybe they're sending a message, you have to EARN your place in the opening credits! (See Eric johnson)

I liked the addition to Supergirl but some of the scenes where not as great as I would of liked. I think she did a good job and I like how she wasn't afraid to do the stunts that were required for her to fly. I hope LV has a good career and maybe we will see her in another TV show.

I'm kinda upset, I thought she looked the part and played it well as a cluesless alien girl. I wonder how they'll write her out tho..they can't possibly keep her spinning around in that thing forever
