Michael RosenbaumI'm starting to wonder if Tom Welling is destined for a career as a director after Smallville wraps up in the next couple of years.  Unlike many television actors, Welling doesn't seem all that interested in pursuing movies or other acting gigs while his series is between seasons.  He's also spent some time behind the camera while on Smallville, having directed two episodes of the series in the first six seasons.  Welling's third outing in the director's chair, "Apocalypse," airs this Thursday on the CW.  The 150th episode of the series finds Jor-El showing Clark what life would be like if he had never arrived on Earth.

To get fans ready for "Apocalypse," we have some promo pictures, a trailer, and a behind-the-scenes look at the episode.

If Clark wasn't born than Chloe wouldn't have gotten involved with Lionel so she wouldn't have been blown up so Lois wouldn't have come to Smallville so Lois wouldn't have been a reporter. This episode is going to be hard to pull off from a realistic point of view, its a good thing I don't need everything to make sense. And I wonder who Lana is married too and will we see her? because isn't Kristen Kruek doing a movie? So we won't see her

This looks like a great episode and I think Tom is great at directing. I wonder if he will do more directing when Smallville is finished. He is a great actor and maybe he will want to do both. At least we don't have to worry for a while what his plans are.

Mr. Williams, I may have to disagree with you that TW doesn't seem to want to pursue acting gigs outside of SV, as he's been in both of the "Cheaper By The Dozen" movies and "The Fog" since 2003. But obviously he's very interested in directing and I agree with hikinggirl70, that he does seem to do very well at directing. So hopefully he'll continue to do both.

He needs to get into romantic comedies. He was much better in Cheaper by the Dozen than he was in The Fog

i agree with alacia88. He has 2 or 3 months of free time between seasons and yet, he did 3 successful feature films. Basically, he has a lot of possibilities ahead of him after Smallville ends.
