Last night's episode of Smallville shoved young photographer Jimmy Olsen into the spotlight. The plot itself seemed like a pretty lame rip-off of Chuck, but the real test was whether fans would appreciate Jimmy as the star.I'll admit to liking Aaron Ashmore as an actor more than most. Contrast Jimmy Olsen to the charming bad boy Troy Vandegraff he played on Veronica Mars and you can appreciate his range. I also root for the underdog, which Aaron is compared to his one-minute younger twin brother Shawn, who played Bobby “Iceman” Drake in the X-Men movies. To read the rest, click here.

he's a cutie..he'll pull through, I think his role is shaping into character quite nicely. ('so long as we don't have TOO many "Jimmy-focused" moments..) I'm totally fine with him.*~

I liked how Jimmy was more in this episode and I think the spy thing worked for him. He was like am amateur James Bond especially with the dancing with Chloe. That scene was great and I would love to see them dancing again.

Wow -- didn't know there were twins -- seriously? Huh. Well I like Smallville a lot -- I've watched from the beginning. And last night was pretty lame. The plots don't always make sense -- but as long as Clark is on screen often enough - it doesn't matte. If the plotlines are going to get thinner and thinner -- TW better be planning on putting in a lot more hours.r.

I was crackin' up at Jimmy as 007 in this one. For a Jimmy plot driven episode, I thought it was pretty good. I gotta say tho, I had no idea that Jimmy and Chloe were back together - in Gemini she tells him her secret and they kiss. But then in the LAME Hero episode he's taking Kara out again. So I was a little baffled at the on again off again Chimmy saga which apparently they're trying to put the spark back into. One thing to take into consideration, coltshot1, is that the episode before one that TW directs (next week's Apocalypse is directed by TW), is always light on the Clark driven plotlines. TW has to prep for directing the episode, so he can't always be putting extra time in front of the camera. (Even if that's where we'd all like to see him...)

I thought the episode sucked. I mean I don't have a problem with Jimmy or Chloe but I don't see them carrying an episode. As far as the lack of actors....are they cutting Smallville's budget or something. I feel like they are doing too much too quick as far as getting rid of or limiting a characters appearance. I don't mind Lana because we all know that her and Clark don't end up together, but they've already gotten rid of Lionel and it seems a bit extreme to do it all at once. As far as TW directing, he needs to realize along with the producers that the show is suppose to center around Clark. Its a bit ridiculous to sacrifice Clark's on-air time so that he can direct an episode. This seemed to be about 2 episodes in a row that sucked and thats after we had to go so long without seeing a new one. At least bring in Brainiac and do something with him!!!

I thought he did a great job. I just don't think he and Chloe have any chemistry as a couple. I guess this season seems so disjointed because of the writer's strike, but it also seems like the writers now are really stretching for something worth watching.
