yes the video spoils it but I like spoilers so it doesn't bother me one bit. I saw this coming for years though. I always had the feeling something like this would happen

Years in the making (blah blah blah)... Still, it's pretty screwed up CW put that in the trailer unless they're that desperate for good ratings. I'm really hoping this turn to the dark side makes Clark continue down his path to Superman and not make him chicken out of flying lessons (again).

See, i trust Al and Miles enough to know that they wont allow a trailer to give away something pivotal like that. That being said, it's probably a trick because Erica Durance (Lois), Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy), Laura Vandervoort (Kara), and John Glover (Lionel) are all contracted for Season 8.
