I agree John -- Gilmore Girls suffered because no one can write like ASP writes, but Smallville shouldn't have that problem. Maybe Gough and Millar got tired of trying to base episodes around things like Stride gum.

Wow, I seriously feel like a part of me just died. I'm actually going to go through the 4 stages of grief over this, starting with denial. I don't believe it. They had no reason to quit-and why when everyone was waiting with bated breath for the finale of season 8 when arguably it's where the show should end. I want more answers. Please please please do some digging and see exactly why they've done this.

They were hurting the show when the were writing. Smallville hasn't been good at all for the past couple seasons.

Four showrunners? Wow, that's a terrible idea. You can't run a show by committee. They should've brought back Stephen S. DeKnight, since he appears to be free after the failure of his Viva Laughlin.

I didn't know Steve DeKnight worked on Viva Laughlin. What a tumble from his old Buffy days.

The show has stunk for years. They brutally killed almost the only character with any decency or heart. Time to pull it and be done with it.
