Last week we reported the news that the contracts of certain Smallville actors will be up for renewal at the end of the current season. The actors include Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk, and Allison Mack. While most fans seem to agree that losing Lex or Chloe would be detrimental to the series, there are many people who would love to see Lana Lang leave town and never return. One of our readers, Batfan114, even responded with the rather harsh cry of "Die Lana Die!!!" It seems that, for many people, the character of Lana has more than worn out her welcome. Should Smallville really do away with her in the eighth season, and if so, how?To read the rest, click here.

BRAVO!!! WELL PUT!!!! Smallville would be much more tolerable without the likes of Blahna! They don't neccessarily have to "kill" her off, but definitely send her packing somewhere. And killing her off would probably send the wrong message as far as Clark, I mean. His destiny.... his future relationships. I would hate to think that her death would be the reason he accepted his destiny and moved on to Lois because that's not true love at all. If he accepts his destiny and finally falls for Lois it should be because he wants to and not because the "so-called love of his life" is now dead forever. So packing her off somewhere far would be more beneficial. Either way, as long as she is gone I willl be a happy viewer. Wish the producers could get the memo already! So, yeah, couldn't agree with you more!

I don't really hate Lana like most of the other Smallville fans but I do agree her character has gotten boring and if I had to pick one of the three mentioned above to go it by far would be Lana. Chloe is becoming very important to the show and obviously Lex is important so it has to be Lana

I wouldnt go so far as to say "die Lana die" but yes she has been annoying me for a number of seasons already, its time for her to move out of Smallville. Considering the fact that Michael Rosenbaum said this season would be his last, this would be a good opportunity to get Lana to move on too, seeing as she is obsessed with spying on Lex. She could and probably would follow him.

I agree with the article. Lana is overstated her welcome and it is time to let her go. She is not love Clark anymore and she should let him go and move on. Clark doesn't deserve this on again off again relationship. Too bad Lois can't be his girlfriend since that doesn't happen until much later in life.

Well said. Lana Lang has more than over stayed her welcome on the show. Her character was left with aggrivating and ridiculous story lines. Lois and Clark need to start their story and Lana Lang needs to be dismissed. The show will go on without her.

Don Williams: Thanks for using my quote first of all. Now I know that they will never really kill her but hey I can dream. Now as for your comment on it not being Kristen's fault I'm not so sure there. Yes in the begining it wasn't her fault but I've seen many actors and actress have a say in their own characters and actually change things within them. It's been 7 years and her character has no use as we have already agreed with. But I would have to say it is now her fault because I'm sure she can say something to the producers or who ever to change thing.o.k. the writers strike may have screwed things up this season but last season or anyother she could have spoken up.

They should have just killed her off in season 5. Its time for Clark and Lois to hook up.
