Michael RosenbaumFor a variety of different reasons, the seventh season is often the end of the road for many television shows.  The contracts for some actors end after seven seasons, and when you have a hit show it can be pretty pricey to sign them on for another year or two.  Another problem many shows face is the fact that they simply run out of steam in that amount of time, either creatively or in the ratings.  These are all things that the CW is going to have to consider now that Smallville is nearing the end of its seventh year on the air.  The network recently renewed the series for another season, but keeping all of the actors in place has proved a challenge.

If Allison Mack (Chloe) leaves after season 7 then so am I.
She's really the highlight of the show for me ..

Lex is by far the best and most complex character.

He goes...and I go!

A couple of these characters have a REALLY big fanbase, so if they go, they're gonna lose a lot of viewers. I know one thing, they HAVE to keep Chloe (Allison) on, she's needed there. I agree with stephanievaniersel, she IS the highlight of the show. I don't think Lex (Michael) should go. I'm not a fan of his character because, you know, he's evil!! But, he is important to the show, and I LOVEE MR! Nothing against KK, but I ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY HATEEE HER CHARACTER!!!!!! In fact, I think Smallville would be a hell of a lot better and the ratings would go up if Lana Lang would just DIE... or at least move away or something... But, anyway, the point of my whole post is: AM should stay, MR should stay, KK should go.

I thought Michael Rosenbaum said he wasn't coming back? Maybe I'm thinking of a different show and a different character.

Mainly I think what is needed is solid writing... something Smallville seriously lacks repeatedly (though not always) If Chloe or Lex is to disappear, there should be a good plot based reason for it. And they should try to have the actors back for 1 or 2 episodes towards the series end. Lana, on the other hand, could die in a car crash, be abducted by aliens, possessed by a witch or turn into a vampire and disappear and I wouldn't give a !@#!@. Wait a minute... 3 of those things have happened... lol... thus the shady writing... KILL LANA!

this show just wouldnt be the same without all the major actors/actresses, though they could kill lana and I would be ok with it because she has gone stale for me anyway but she brings ratings so they won't kill her.

I 've been watching Smallville on FFW for some years now. A no Lana show would make me very happy. Once Lex is gone I will no longer watch.
