First of all KrisTom making a great couple or whatever has no bearing on whether Lana is a great character or not. That said DIE LANA DIE!!! Lana needs to go. She's useless and this was proven sooo well by "Fracture" where they had to give a role that could have been done by any other character (Chloe, anyone?). Chloe is the brains and the computer hacker of this show, so why did Lana have to do it? Also Lionel created the thing, so why didn't Lionel just tell Clark/Chloe/Lana about it? It makes zero sense that Lana had to do it. So they had to basically force her into the plot! She's a useless character that needs to die and stay dead this time. Or move to Paris to join her witch ancestors, or to some place offscreenville where the magical show happens! I have nothing against KK, but Lana really does nothing to add to the show. If anything, this character only serves to drag Clark, Chloe, Lex and the rest of the important characters from their destinies.

. I'm not saying Chloe is in the comics, just that she's the reporter, her destiny as we were told in season 4 "Spirit" is to be major reporter at the DP. Lana has served her purpose, all the lessons that Clark needs to learn from Clana relationship is done. So why keep her around for another season? To torture the viewers some more? Or because she has shinny shinny hair? Chloe should stay, she's too important to Clark-- their close friendship and partnership that they share has been stressed over and over and over, and her death has been shown to affect Clark greatly. So she should stay! Lex HAS to be there. How would Smallville be Smallville without LEX? MR is too great an actor and definitely desreves better storylines, but if he leaves-- well, I'll stay for Chloe. IF MR and Chloe leave, well, adios Smallville!

I mean, don't get me wrong! I like Clark as much as the next guy, and I started watching this to see Clark and Lex's journeys, but if all I see about Clark every week is him angsting over Lana and sniffing her wonderful, awesome ass where the sun shines? Then thankyou, but no thankyou! Honestly, this show has major potential but Lana seems to spoil even the good episodes. Clark is a great character when he's away from Lana, but when he's in Clana he's just the dumb dumb alien that makes me wonder how he becomes superman.

I'm in it for the long haul. I must say that I can't imagine the show without Lex and I adore Chloe. I wouldn't want to lose any of the main cast, but I'll keep watching no matter what--or at least, I plan to do that. *g* I haven't loved all of season 7 so far, but I'm still watching.

Smallville would never be the same without them..i simply luv them all. Its the only tv series I religiously watch. Every cast complement with each other. Even Jonathan Kent, i hope he will be coming back. CW should be concerned with what the viewers want, not just with their own personal business interest. Go go smallville!

I am getting tired of Lana as well. Not only has she changed in a big way, she doesn't love Clark anymore so let him find a new love and let her go. I love Chloe so I would be upset if Alison left. Lex is a cool character and Michael plays him well so it depends on how the season 8 goes if I continue to watch.

Bravo, Cecil!!! And a few others!! You said it!! In with Lex and Chloe and out with Lana!!! The Clana angst is bringing the show down a great deal. I absolutely HATE the fact that this is supposed to be a story about Clark's journey to becoming Superman and yet this story is more about Clark's journey thru that horrible and ridiculously insane relationship that is Clana. What the hell does all the angsty issues with her have to do with him becoming Superman??? I understand showing them together thru high school or whatever and that relationships are a part of his progressing life (or supposed to be progressing life), but do they really have to push it to such EXTREME MEASURES that the show begins to generally surround Clana instead of Clex (which is where the center should be)????
