Justin HartleyA couple of weeks ago, the Green Arrow returned to Smallville for the first time in over a year and left fans buzzing.  The excitement that viewers showed for the Arrow's return appearance may have had some influence over the CW's decision to sign the man behind the mask, Justin Hartley, to a talent holding deal.  The deal doesn't necessarily guarantee that the network will find a project for Hartley, but it does mean that they're going to be trying their best to create a role for the actor until the deal runs out.  Could this be the first step in a possible Green Arrow or Justice League spin-off for Hartley's character?

Once Smallville goes off, they need some kind of superhero show. The Justice League would be awesome. Just a Green Arrow show would be cool too.

I would watch a Green Arrow spin-off but hell ya would i watch a Justice League spin-off!! I love the whole Green Arrow idea (he's just simply way to hot. lol) but it'd be nice to have more solid characters.

justice league will be way more better than a single hero, green arrow is cool but the justice league is better.

Justice LEAGUE would be COMPLETELY awesome BUT I highly doubt WB Is goinna let the CW do the show....a Green Arrow spin off is more likely.!

let's not get too confused here...it's a HOLDING deal...
It's holds Justin to be exclusive to the CW for an agreed upon period of time (usually meaning one year or "season") for an agreed upon amount of money.
It is most common for television networks to offer hot (in high
demand) actors holding deals for an upcoming television season.
But before anyone starts getting any ideas about a JLA spin-off, this is not a DEVELOPMENT deal.
A holding deal is different in that it is simply looking to place the talent in ANY project the network sees fit, and NOT for developing a project specifically FOR the talent.
So I wouldn't expect any Smallville related spin-off...
