Smallville Season 6 DVDSuperman has defeated NBC's Heroes.  Or, perhaps we should say Super-Young-Man.  Smallville's Season 6 DVD set has nudged Heroes aside to become the number 2 best seller at Amazon.com.   This is truly a David Vs. Goliath story, particularly in the regards that NBC went to great lengths to guarantee that Heroes had the most feature packed box set on the planet.  Despite its marginal audience, Smallville handedly surpassed NBC's attempt at emulating comic book devotion, with some genuine comic roots to boot.

That is surprising. Heroes has positively blown up this year. Smallville's ratings are declining, so I don't get it at all.

I can't wait to get the set. People underestimate some of the shows that come off the smaller networks... but you don't get much more loyal fans than Joss Whedon's, Smallville's or Supernatural.

Just think how much better the sales would be if the Smallville DVDs were packed with extra features. I remember an article when the first season was coming out, it claimed they had a choice to make the DVDs feature filled or they could rush them out to have a release date near the season premiere and they chose the early release. I think they made the wrong call, a release timed for Christmas loaded with special features would probably smash the current sales numbers. Currently it is only die hard fans like myself who buy the DVDs, after all we've seen all the content.
