No More 'Smallville' After Season 8?

Tom Welling stars as Clark Kent/Superman on Smallville

The seventh season of Smallville will continue in just a few weeks, to the excitement of avid fans who have followed the show since it debuted in 2001. Talks for another season are already ongoing, but there is a possibility that the series will not go beyond an eighth edition.

“We would all very much like a season 8, and that, in our minds, would be the last season,” creator Al Gough told iF Magazine.

With no Lex Luthor to hate all the time in season 8, it sounds like a good number to stop

I love Michael Rosenbaum!!! I hope they will bring him back for a season eight at least! He's soo talented, and soo amazingly handsome! What's not to like? Plus he portrays the lex character soo perfectly--- I loved lex when he was Clark's friend, I hate him now that he's a foe, and that's all credit to Michael's amazing Talent! Please bring him back!!!!

But to add--- If there are no more season's after season 8, I hope there will be a Justice League spinoff!! Wouldn't that be amazng! I wish they would bring back the whole Justice legue crew for an episode...

i cant wait til season 7 premieres, itz sounds great...if lex comes back i hope he rots in jail and leaves lana and clark alone. finally there finna be together it took them 4 ever.i dont know what o expect from kara but i know shes finna kill it.. shell be off the hook

I don't agree with you Lilbri45... I seriously do not believe that Clark and Lana fit well together---in this show I mean! Lana is better suited with Lex, she is as vindictive as he is, and the whole good-girl routine is just pretend...I think Chloe is more of the good-girl... think about it, she's never turned back at any particular time, she blames herself alot when something goes wrong and she thinks it's her fault etc... on the other hand, Lana never thinks that anything is her fault--and it usually is, she's always blaming someone... so Lexana forever--- besides they make a cute couple!!

i think lana and clark make a good couple and its so sad that smallville is finishing.

OMG!I can't imagine Smallville without Lex.But if he really won't come back for the 8th season I wish that they'll stop the whole Clana thing.If it will be the last season Clark should move on and Lana should probably go back to Paris to study.Clois should begin sometime.

Seven years is a great run.
With several regulars leaving the show after this season, it's a good sign to close the doors.
These talented folks have done a great job for seven years, time to move on to other projects and characters,
I'm sure they don't wish to be typecast in doing nothing but these caracters for years to come.
