| Hard to see a family of friends and foes change. Maybe the network decided a divorce was inevitable, but too premature. Why break something that was not broken. Let's see if the divorce is final. A litany of separations, Johnathan, Lionel, Martha, now Lex and Lana, have forced us to adjust and change. Is it the same show any more. With this being possibly the last season, any new characters lack the time and depth to fully develop and attract interest. Probably, too late, but the decision should be reviewed. For a 9th season, consistency, depth and growth must prevail. |

| I think they should have "rebranded" the show as "Metropolis" and ended the farce of it being called Smallville.
