Smallville: First Look at Black Canary

More than a few classic DC Comics characters have made their way to the CW's Smallville over the years. The Green Arrow, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, and Martian Manhunter are some of the characters who have run into young Clark Kent since the series started. The latest DC hero to make an appearance will be Black Canary, who is set to arrive in the February 7 episode entitled "Siren." In the original comics, Black Canary is known for being a kick-butt member of the Birds of Prey and a love interest for Green Arrow. She also has a high powered sonic scream that can shatter objects and incapacitate villains. Now the CW has finally released images of Smallville's version of this classic heroine.

It's kind of sad that, between Clark Kent, the Green Arrow and Black Canary, Black Canary is the least feminine-looking. I'm not judging her, but Justin Hartley is so much more girlicious than this chick.

She kind of looks like Justin Hartley now that you mention it. My friend described her look as "a hooker crossed with the Hamburglar."

I'm a HUGE fan of Smallville, but the actress they casted for this role isn't even close to what the Black Canary looks like in the comics. Heck, the girls from CHARMED had better super-hero costumes than this?? The Black Canary's costume looks like she was a street-walker! Very dissapointed!

That outfit looses something in translation. It looks frumpy in the chest, the eye makeup is ridiculous and in the picture where she's screaming she looks like a blow up doll

I used to love the series at the beginning when it was about Superboy.....Clark Kent , but that was like 5 years ago. Now they should call the series Comicville. And I don't know much about Black Canary girl....but this actress doesn't look much like a crime fighter...but more like some !@#!@ actress with the whip and net fish stockings. Also will Batman and Robin ever make it to Smallville's Comicville? And for the final of the series when it really ends will they bring back all the Heroes to have an evil versuses good battle?

It's funny but looking at this Black Canary girl and how trashy she looks ....did the Cw network top money making executives ok this outfit? Seeing the blind support that some low rated trashy shows on this network makes me realize more that Supernatural is on the wrong network. The CW is becoming more like trashy t.v.

I think they could've left her hair a little bit longer, ya know? What the use of being a feminine superhero if you don't look, well, feminine? Not to say that having short hair isn't, it's just, I think it would have a cooler effect with her sonic scream or whatever if long hair is flowing behind her, ya know? And they could've made her look a little more sophisticated......

I have to agree with gentlesideoffury. I may change my mind when I see the episode but from the pictures shown here, well lets just say i'm not lovin it. P.S. I loved the GA's outfit so I know they can design costumes so what happened here???
