Smallville actors and writersTo show their support for the writers, numerous actors from various television shows have joined the picket lines, and not excluded from the bunch are the stars of the CW's hit series, Smallville.

According to Kryptonsite, show actors Michael Cassidy (Grant Gabriel), John Glover (Lionel Luthor) and Phil Morris (John Jones) joined the striking scribes in front of the Universal Studios lot earlier this week, and the three stars' appearance was confirmed by co-creator Al Gough.

I support the writers and my shows. It just shows a ton of love the smallville folks ahve for their fans to have basically created a season ender just in case... vs some shows that will just end if this goes on too long

As far as the writers (in general) are concerned, I understand wanting more money or whatever. But ending shows in the middle of seasons is devastating for most of the viewers. And I'm not just talking about Smallville. It's crazy. I hope the whole thing ends soon. The networks need to resolve this issue quickly if not to upset viewers to point that they begin to lose viewers thus losing money. Now as far as Smallville is concerned, the writers need to step it up a notch (a big notch) or recruit new blood because they're really starting to suck in that department.

After MLB players went on strike in '94 I stopped watching (on TV and in the stadiums)baseball. If this strike doesnt end soon I'll go back to books and sell all my Smallville DVDs on E-Bay with the regret that I wasted so much of my time watching.

Smallville's creator Al Gough wants to show off the power of the show's fan base and he's offering up one of his lead actors to do it.
What is going on, do you ask? To support the ongoing Pencils2MediaMoguls pencil-sending campaign to support the WGA, Al offers you... Michael Rosenbaum.
Here is some correspondence from Al himself:
So, Miles and I were sitting around the other day (which is what writers do when they can't write and their picketing shift is over) wondering what we can do to kick this Pencils2Moguls campaign up a notch. Don't get me wrong, we are stoked by the response so far, but we felt there must be something we can do to really light a fire under it going into the holidays.

Then the answer hit us -- the greatest criminal mind of our time -- Lex Luthor.

We will give the gift of Lex.

Well, not really since he is, after all, a fictional character, but we do have Michael Rosenbaum, one of the best young actors of our time (in our humble opinion). We thought, why not offer a challenge to some of these other shows who have devoted fanbases (that's right Battlestar and Buffy I'm talking to you!) and see whose fans can really deliver the goods (in this case, pencils).

So here is the skinny:

For every box of environmentally friendly pencils you buy at Unitedhollywood.com, your name will be entered into an e-raffle. We will then pick a winner at random and they will receive at phone call from Michael Rosenbaum thanking them for their support of both the cause and the show.

That is right, Lex Luthor will call you directly! Make sure you list SMALLVILLE as the show you are supporting when you click on the icon.

So, Craig, please spread the word far and wide.....and thank you all for your continued support and good wishes. We are all in this together.

Best,

Al Gough
