Yes, it does seem shallow to blame Lana for being beautiful. Clark is the one getting off easy here. Lana even yelled at him "You can do anything, and you just stayed on this farm!?!!"

Ok, I'm mad because I had typed a long and very philosophical post-- ok so it wasn't soo philosophical (is anything that deep with Lana??) abd then poof! My computer gave me some error warnning and I lost it all.. I'm still pouting! Or feeling like pulling "A Lana" in Wrath when she threw that picture at the mirror--- spoilt twit! Anyways, My point earlier was to CLAP loudly in applause for Kisha's posts. First because I think she's covered all the "Intro to Lana 101" basics and all the "Intro to Lana 201: Arguments for Lana" oh so very well. I know I wouldn't be able to put it as well... That and because Batfan added my favorite of all times "Intro to Disguise 101: How to hide in China" with all the subtopics like: "Dress to blend: Thou shalt not wear a red dress with a Blond wig in China"! Second-- No one is blaming Lana for being beautiful! In fact I think we are all in agreement that Clark is basically made into his dumb alien status by being around Lana. That Lana is beautiful, no one disagrees. Why when she is infact bathed in angelic music and dressed in angelic white soo often to prove just how beautiful and angelic she infact is? How can anyone blame her for something she has no control over??? That said, we blame Lana for her ACTIONS! Not how she looks... Looks are very subjective-- beaty lies in the eyes of the beholder. For instance to Jimmy before Kara, Chloe was the most beautiful woman in his life, not Lana... To pete too... soo in their own respective ways all the women on the show are infact very beautiful... not just Lana. That said, none of us the people who are not Lana's fans say anything against how she looks... or even how her looks affect Clark. All we say is that Lana is not the pure sweet angel she's said to be. She's evil and dangerous to everyon

She's evil and dangerous to everyone-- including herself. I think this is probably the argument that Lana's fans try to ignore--and instead try to argue about how beautiful she is-- something I'm sure none of us feel we need to debate because it's there. But why ignore what is shown on screen simply because of who a person was before? Season 1 Lana was vey sweet, everything a girl-next door character should be. Although she was still a jealous, selfish and self absorbed person, she was likeable. I loved season 1 Lana. Infact I wanted Clark to be together with Lana because Lana was infact that sweet girl-next-door type. Season 2 Lana was still likeable, even with her playing victim all the time. I still liked Lana. Season 3 I started to see her evil side, but it was still below the scale and well most of it a bit excuseable and although I disliked her incessant secret and lies crap, I liked her a little. Then after that she went downhill. She's manipulative (we've been shown this), she'

she's selfish, jealous, very self-absorbed and even downright evil when it suits her. She's soo evil that she's been able to outsmart two of the "evilest" of all evils" Lex Luthor and Lionel Luthor! She's no longer the victim. She's no longer the "wronged". This show plays her as if she's had the worst life of all. Oh please! Let's see-- She lost her parents at 3: ok BIG BAD THING! I'll give it that. But so did Chloe: She lost her mom-- or rather her mom just apt and left (which is worse because it leaves the kid wondering whether it was his/her fault). Lex lost his mom at 6/12? Lois lost her mom at 6. Clark does not even have his biological mom/dad. Lana got adopted by Nell--her aunt who treated her like her own? Does that sound tragic? Not to me. Lana co-owned the Talon (or her aunt did but same thing) when she was in high school! Sound tragic? No! Chloe used to pine for Clark. Never had her feelings returned. Had to endure Clark coming to her for relationship advice. Talk about pain, tragedy? Chloe has had tons more than Lana ever! Lana has had numerous of boys after her, wanting to idolize her and make her their goddess-- tragic? NO! Lana goes around insulting Clark making him feel bad, sleeping with his ex-bestfriend and she is the one that was wronged???? Lana entered that relationship all on her own-- after numerous warnings from Clark and Chloe. But being the brat she is; she told them she does not need rescuing. That she is no one's prey! Then why are we suppossed to treat like a matyr all of a sudden because she was "preyed" on by Lex?? I thought she said she was no one's prey! such a character does not demand sympathy, such a character demands condemnation. And the fact that she's coming out of it all scotch free???? That doesn't even endear her to me. This whole "Lex hurt her", "Oh she is soo wronged" etc etc to me holds no water because she went to Lex willingly and knowing who he was! She knows the kind of man Lex is. She's even said so herself. She was not hurt more by Clark than the way Chloe was hurt by Clark. And she was not hurt more than Lex than the way Chloe and her dad were hurt by Lionel Luthor, or than the way Chloe has been hurt by Lex, including being experimented on. and that is not even mentioning how her mother has been treated by Lex. In fact, she of all the other characters has been hurt the least. We don't see Chloe taking a hammer and an axe and going all captain killer on Lex. No Chloe chooses to fight Lex the right way, the legal way, the lawful way! We don't see Chloe stealing from Lex-- remember she can hack through anything. Hacki

Hacking through to Lex's bank account would be easy. But she doesn't steal! We don't see Chloe calling Clark names, telling Clark she can't imagine she ever loved him. We don't see Chloe capturing and torturing Lionel-- who almost killed her and her dad in an explosion! We don't see anyone saying: Oh Chloe is fine to betray anyone because they've all been so mean to her. We never see Chloe making the same choices that Lana does. Lana has tried to kill more than once! And we can't excuse her because she was all powerful. Because when she kidnapped Lionel, she wasn't all powerful. She was herself. And she knows why Lionel forced her to marry Lex... which in my opinion was agreat thing because Lex would have definitely gone after Clark if she had suddenly left him at the altar and gone to Clark. So why would she kidnap Lionel when she knows why he did it??? Lana no matter how you dress her up is not the angel-sweet girl she was when the show started. She's evil-- and she's manipulative.

She only does what is good for her. What suits Lana. Doesn't care about anyone else. Again I like Dark!Lana--- because I think KK has more potential playing Dark or evil Lana than sweetpie "YUM YUM" Lana. But that's a different case. All I hope is that Lana gets what she deserves and that is either jail-time, or some form of punishment/redemption for what she has done. Again, not my argument against Lana has nothing to do with looks/beauty or anything on that line. My argument (and all the arguments why Lana is evil or unliked by the other posters or lanabashers as you are calling them) is not about Lana's beauty... My argument is about Lana's ACTIONS-- and I've compared that to the other characters-- Lex, Clark, Lois, Chloe as best as I can. To me, it's not about her being an eye-candy (I think Lois is actually used as eye-candy more often than Lana-- and nowadays Kara), it's about how her actions are shown on screen and then how the other characters are allowed to acknowledge her. It's annoying because she's shown one way and then acknowledged a different way. Where is the consistency when it comes to her character??? I would like to see for instance some follow-up on Clark's reactions in Wrath. Or some follow-up on her torturing/kidnapping Lionel, or her faking her own death, the stolen money, the Isis foundation and so on...
