For years, a growing contingent of Smallville fans have called for the small-screen's young Man of Steel to don the blue tights, if not on the show, then in a big screen effort.  So far, there has been nothing but disappointment.  With the recent news that Brandon Routh will not be appearing the Justice League America movie, instead waiting out a Superman sequel with Bryan Singer, it looks like Smallville fans please may finally be heard.

I have to agree in that I have always pictured the ending of Smallville to be Tom Welling wearing the Superman uniform. Time to move in that direction! The JLA movie may do that.

You wanna send Welling away, bring back the Flash (or whatever lame name they used since they couldn't get those rights). Kyle Gallner's performance was the only thing that could get me to watch an episode of this show (well, two episodes), and it's the only thing that will get me back. Let Veronica Mars be a Hero, I want Beaver in Smallville!

How is this "breaking"? I covered it three days ago at ScreenRant.com.

I think this is great! Tom Welling on the big screen...I like the sound of that!! Now what we need is Allison Mack on the big screen--she's soo talented!!

heee that is actually funny! But I agree to that...Lana as a tag-along would be a great disappointment!! I would not mind Chloe on the team though!

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! NO TIGHTS FOR TOM, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Way to ruin a good thing. He would be so type-cast if he did this. Although he is the best superman ever (in my humble opinion) he is a more talented actor than his role on Smallville has allowed the world to see thus far. Tom would be a great big screen Superman, but it would make people begin to believe that it's all he can do, and he can do so much more!! For sure!! Kal-El's Gal says so!
