cecil44 I thought you said just because you was a chloe fan that don't make you not see her bad ways. well her old bad ways. you said chloe has been for Truth and Justice since day 1but thats not true in the begining all chloe was about was herself trying to find out clark's secret no matter what. Working with lionel is truth and justice i don't think so. The only reason she did tell lionel about clark secret is because she didn't know it. Between season 1 and 4 if chloe would have found out clark secret the whole world would have known. 1 more thing why are ya'll still basing lana she's changed she don't care about the luthers anymore. Not to be ugly but ya'll must have to life because ya'll be on here all the time.

slayfan this itsn't a insult i was just say ya'll say how much ya'll like chloe so why not write about how much you like chloe and just forget about lana sitting around write how you hate someone makes you feel better than writing about someone you like, thats crazy. what you ratter read someone saying something nice about that dog looking chloe or someone saying something bad about the lovely lana. I already know what you are going to say so don't ask the question. But i'm just saying why talk about something you hate when you can talk about something you like. Not to be ugly again but all ya'll confuse.

Cecil, when you put so much into a single posting you virtually guarantee that some of it will be missed, and that's a shame. So you might want to think about that. I feel it especially today because I am pressed for time and will be for the next week or so. But I do want to say a few things in response. First I am not sure we disagree about whether powers corrupt. I think they do, but I think the degree to which they corrupt depends on the character of the individual, and an ideal hero or heroine would not be corrupted at all. Desires and goals don't change just because one has more power to pursue them, they just show more clearly. So I think there is a major difference between behavior invoked by receiving new powers and behavior invoked by possession or hypnosis which supposedly control the will directly. Red K, Nicodemus, and alien cave-dwelling parasites, seem to alter attitudes and mood rather than controlling one's will or giving one powers. So it is very hard to ass

to assess blame in the context of all this. ----- Chloe sarcastically says "What a lucky guy" about Lana's supposed willingness to kill for Clark, but I am not sure I agree with Chloe's implication. If Lana has reason to believe the happiness or even the survival of the world depends on Clark then maybe she is justified in being willing to kill for him (although I don't remember what she did that proved she was willing to kill for him - can anyone remind me?). And I have accepted that she became "dark" after Clark broke up with her so I also accept that the powers corrupted her in Wrath. I just don't accept that it is the same Lana because the change was so inconsistent with what we knew of her previously. Instead I label her character development as incoherent and blame the writers. Also, maybe Lana would die for Clark too. She proved she was willing to live for him, protecting him while living in a marriage she did not want, and that is arguably at least as hard as dying for hi

Mxlpdilk, I agree, the long posts can be confusing. But I usually have very little time off and when I get it, I try to over-utilize it-- that and I'm a little wordy (hee a little(?)). I just realized that we completely agree then-- because my point all along has been that Lana is very badly written! Yes, of course I blame the writers, but the bad writting makes the character incoherent and so we obviously characterize the character according to what we see. I agree that some "outside" forces alter the will of the person-- for instance the spell/witch thing. But I think that this show has shown repeatedly that no matter who you are, as long as you are human and you get powers unexpectedly you will abuse them at first. This I think is almost like a recurring theme in the show--- the boy in "Leech" was a quiet boy and peaceful boy, yet when he got Clark's powers he got out of control and then regretted it later. Same thing with Lana--

she got the powers in Wrath and abused them (unfortunately we don't see her regeretting it which is again either bad writting or the writers assume that we'll assume that she's sorry in offscreenville). Same thing with Chloe in "Truth". I guess what the show is trying to show is that the humans are capable of decieving, betrayal and corruption, but that they can also be extremely loyal and so on... Like Chloe for instance, Lana, the Kents and so on.

No one hates KK as a person and its fine that clark and chloe are not madly in love... the problem is the character and the way the writers portray her as opposed to the rest of the cast. Some people are such fans of lana that they believe there is nothing wrong with writing. And since when did lanasdagirl get super powers? I did not know that she has the power to see into people's lives. Insults like that are not cool and should have no place here. The fact that you are a superfan of lana does not give you the right to insult people who want to have an intelligent conversation.

LanaLover, yes I did say that so let me try to connect the two. I believe that Chloe is all about Truth and Justice--- from day 1. But I also believe that Chloe has made her share of mistakes-- she (like everyone else on this show) is not perfect. In fact, she did such a horrible thing by making a deal with Lionel to betray Clark. I still think that's the worst she's ever done. She made a deal with the devil. But that did not mean that she wasn't after the truth and justice--- that only means that she went too far in her quest for the truth. She was also hurt and betrayed by Clark at the time (yes Clark betrayed her too by breaking their promise to be honest with each other) and it was her weakest moment. I don't condone her behavior, in fact I was soo angry at her stupid decision that I wanted her to pay dearly for it-- which she did.

she lost her column, got blacklisted by Lionel, her dad lost his job, they lost their house, she and her dad almost got blown-up, she almost killed by everyone (clark, Lana, the Kents etc) in "Delete" and so on and so on. She also lost Clark's trust and friendship and had to work really hard to rebuild that trust. So she suffered and paid dearly for it and for that I think she deserved the forgiveness she finally got. I also forgave her.
