Lana says to Clark "It was the powers..." instead of apologizing and accepting that she made the mistake and taking full responsibility for that, she says it was the powers. When Clark challenges her about Lionel and all that other things she did (trying to kill Lex, and accussing Clark of not taking care of Lex himself, telling Clark that he's too afraid to get blood on his hands etc), she says "don't tell me you've never (broken the rules/moral something???) to protect the ones you love". Basically Lana does not apologize/accept responsibility, just tries to justify her actions. Finally when she realizes that she might loose Clark she says she wants to take responibility for her actions as long as Clark loves her unconditionally. So basically she's still not accepting her mistakes, she's still not learning from anything. Which is what sets the two girls apart---

Lana never learns from her mistakes, Chloe on the other hand is always shown to learn from her mistakes-- and sometimes has to pay dearly for them (Lionel deal). Both girls were curious about Clark-- but one stopped digging when asked to while the other one refused to stop digging. Finally, Both girl's love Clark, but one will KILL for him (Lana) while the other one will DIE for him (Chloe) and both girl's love Clark in very different ways-- Clark told Chloe he did not love her, Chloe accepted this, got heartbroken but did not try to hurt him, Clark told Lana he did not love him, Lana started dating another boy immediately and continued to hurl insulting/painful/hurtful words to Clark to hurt him. So both girl's have been portrayed to be conpletely different. For me, Lana represents the "normal" side of Clark, while Chloe represents the "Super" side of Clark. Lana represents the "safe", the "ordinally", the "attainable"

"=== basically Clark cannot attain the "human normal" life, no matter how hard he tries. Chloe has been exploring the "wierd" the "intriguing" the "super" side of things since Pilot with her "Wall of Wierd". She's readily accepting and is not freaked out by the unexplainable. Remember how she reacted to his powers in "Rush"? she said "this is soo cool". That's Chloe, the girl who thinks Clark is awesome, powers or not, boyfriend or not. Lana seems to think Clark is awesome only when he's dating her. When she's dating someone else-- Lex, Jason, Magnet-boy, Adam etc, Lana is all "at least they trust me" "at least theya re open with me" "at least something something.." and "I don't know how I could have ever loved you..." etc. It's one thing to try and make someone jealous-- Chloe has done it, Lana has done it, but it's another to be outright mean to the guy are suppossed head-over-heels in love with.

FROM MY EARLIER POST THAT I LEFT UNFINISHED: I never saw this play out on screen (Clark being torn between the two girls that is). Despite what Al/Miles had said about this triangle. Now, about Lionel.... I really do hope that there is some EVIL left in him. I hate that they have destroyed the other great character this show has ever had. Lionel was one of those characters that made every crappy scene he was in a thousand times more interesting, making the show a million times better. I know that is partly because of JG's amazing talent, and part of it was because he was consistently evil and therefore had a purpose on the show. I agree that JG makes the crappy lines he's given sound like gold, even now. I am especially bitter at how they have underutilized this amazing actor in season seven giving him only a line or two in the episodes he's been.

I say throw JG and AM together and the chemistry they have makes the show all that better! Same thing with MR-- MR's delivery of Lex never ceases to amaze me. Lex has also been so inconsistently written over the years (especially in late seasons) but MR makes the scenes absolutely worth watching. Now if the producers would stop concentrating so much on Clana barn scenes and give us the stuff that makes the show: Clark being heroic, Lex being EVIL, Lionel being (evil? Jor-el oracle? I prefer him evil), Chloe being a reporter and Lana being evil/dark (yes, I prefer evil/Dark Lana too, there's something about how KK plays her-- I think KK loves to play dark!Lana, plus Dark!Lana is so much more interesting to watch than whinney-my-parents-abandoned-me, Whitney-abandoned-me, Aunt-Nell-abandoned-me, even my pink-fairly-princessness-abandoned-me---Lana).

Lois, Jimmy and Kara I could care less. I'm not invested in those characters yet-- Lois can stay happy, bubbly and as comic relief, Jimmy--well-- Jimmy is the new Lana which I hate (having back-up girlfriends and all), and Kara-- well, Kara can come back if she can give us more insight on Krypton and the back story of little Kal-el (and not that stupid love triangle of the house of Els)

The last post was me just trying to post, it refused me for like ten minutes. Anyway here goes, for lanasdagirl, I don't know why you say that we all hate KK. I don't remember reading anyone saying that and I know I haven't written it. We talk about how we dislike Lana not KK. Actually I think she is a good actress and when the show gives her something to sink her teeth into she's great. When they turn her evil it's like a light comes into her eyes and she is allowed to let go and stop trying to be the perfect princesslike needy girlfriend and just embrace the power of the moment, before they turn her back.

Now as to the insult that we have no lives just because we spend a few minutes discussing one of our favorite shows, well you sit around and read our posts!!! Actually I have a great life with a good job, wonderful husband, two great kids, three great sisters, etc.... but you know what, since they don't watch the show I can't exactly talk to them about it. Therefore, I give myself a few quiet minutes each night to read what everyone has posted here and maybe write a post myself if I have something to say. I don't think that means I have no life so pelase keep the insults to yourself.
