I have a son with diabetes since the age of one. I have actually spoken to Bret about him and he told me "if I can do it anyone can". I try to remember those words and look to Bret as a an example of a person that never gave up. I hope my son will take care of himself and keep his sugar in control. I know that everyday is a struggle and there are a lot of ups and downs but we have to hang in there and never give up! TYere is a cure out there and I hope it comes about within Bret's lifetime. My son is only 6 now so I know there is hope for a cure in his lifetime. I give Bret credit for taking great care of himself. There are so many temptations out there and it takes a strong person to resist them. As far as the ROL girls-I think Bret would have the most fun with Brandi M. Thanks and Rock on Bret!

I wonderful start at controlling diabetes is to abstain from alcohol. Not a hateful comment, but sound medical advice.

Sorry Bret, you're not serious about your diabetes if you are still taking shots! You're an adult and not on a pump? You look like a puffer fish! I expect from drinking and by the way, what's your HgbA1c over your last four blood workups? Dude, there is no way you're in good health! Stop "Poisoning" yourself with denial of the disease! No more shots Bret, start pumpin!

Love Love Love you Bret! AND your show! Hope you know that the previous holy-roller who posted is just a troll who feels compelled to push JESUS & a Guilty conscious onto everyone who doesn't have the same beliefs they do. Wish they'd all just crawl under rocks while they wait for the END TIMES. Geez!

Brett, You are looking for the right girl, I am a wife of a diabetic for 16 years. My husband has had it just like you since the age of 6. The right girl, not only should be able to stand the band scene, but also should understand the lows and highs of diabetes and the mood changes and how to help when you are low. My mother was also diabetic, so I am very familiar to the lows, and knowing what to do. We are trying to teach our kids too. It is very tough being a band members girlfriend or wife but I personally know it is much more difficult to be the girlfriend or wife of a diabetic. Wears on you much more than groupies. Please think of the personality of the girl you pick and if she can handle that.
