Default 4/12/08 British TV

What are some British programmes (hee!) that you like? I know that some of you who frequent QotD are from the U.K., so you can regale us with tales of great British shows that have not made it across the pond.

Naturally, I love Monty Python and the Flying Circus. Sadly, I have not seen any of the original British Office. Should I rent the DVDs?

I like British entertainment/quiz shows, I don't know if that counts... I love "A Question Of Sport" and "A Friday Night With Jonathan Ross". Oh, and I like "Match Of The Day"; so much better than the football magazines/shows we have here...

But if you mean television series, I also like "Little Britain" and I used to watch "The Young Ones" when I was younger...

I LOOOOVE Robin Hood. Seriously one of my top 3 favorite shows of all time. So entertaining and witty. I love every moment of it.

Well it's a game-show and not a series, but I really like "The Weakest Link".

The British Office is brilliant and should definitely be seen. I also love/loved Doctor Who and Jekyll.

I have to admit, I'm not big on the broad British comedy. Stuff like Absolutely Fabulous makes me want to jump out a window.

I have only watched it a few times, but that woman is scary!!!! The SPN boys should definitely check her out. I love the British accent, though.

I know, right? That's the best part of the series, though! I just watch it sometimes for laughs because she is so cruel to everyone! It's so hilarious.

I love it when she says "You are the weakest link. Good bye!"

Flicking through the TV channels just now there isn't an awful lot of british stuff on right now. I know that german TV is in a real crisis, makes me wonder if british is too? They are good with comedy that's just a must, but crime and drama...I don't know. I guess you have to be british to truly like to watch it.
There are shows like "The Smoking Room" , "One Foot in the Grave" ("I don't beliiiive it") and "Fawlty Towers" which I find hilarious, but "Dr. Who" for example, what is the point of that?

I do not know why it did not show up so here I am going to try again. 2 of my faves were Benny Hill and As Time Goes By which stars a pre Bond "M" Judi Dench.

Love, love, love Coronation Street! Also, Emmerdale is great, if you can get it...CBC took it off the air here and I am still in mourning...

Monarch of the Glen, Hamish MacBeth, and of course, the best, Inspector Frost!
