| Do you have any pet peeves about TV? State them here and explain why. One of my pet peeves is when people on TV take like three steps to the side and talk like no one else can here them. Hello?? They're still in the same room! I love high school and college dramas, but one major pet peeve I have is when people only apply to like one school for college. Like Rory only applied to Harvard, Yale and Princeton. And didn't the O.C. kids apply to only one school? What's up with that? Have they never heard of safety schools?

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | I hate it when a show goes from high school to college. Things always work out perfectly on TV and everyone goes to the same college but in real life things never work out happily, people don't always end up going to school together, not everyone even *wants* to go to the same college. No one ever really seems to move away from home either. And I hate how no one ever seems to be worried or struggle with how to pay for college. They either accpet that they can't, get a magically full ride scholarship because they are just oh so smart, or their parents are rich. You just don't see a lot of characters going to junior college first or having to work a lot and be buried in college loan debt. I also hate how love making is always the greatest most fabulous thing on TV. I was amused at the whole Seth and Summer awkwardness, but a lot of shows have perfect magically nights where everything is just so pretty and there are lit candles everywhere and no one is worried about a fire LOL. Its just too perfect a lot of times.

I can't really think of any pet-peeves right now, but I'm sure some will come to mind. Mei, did you think Sawyer and Kate's cage sex was special? :P

| I guess my biggest pet peeve is when a show lays out exposition in an embarrassingly obvious manner. It always makes me cringe, though I can't currently think of any examples. You mostly see it on bad shows, which I try to avoid. |

| Oh, just thought of one. When the characters state the obvious. Like when they're going somewhere and when they get there they say "We're here". Or like in episode 3 of Lost (s4) everyone heard a noise from the closet and Kate was like "It's coming from in there." No, duh?!

| Speaking of love making, I know this is a small detail, but I really hate the weird half blankets everyone on TV seem to have. After sex, the couple is lying in bed, and the blanket on one side covers the woman up to the breast, but on the other side, it's down to the wiast for the man. I get that they're trying to show as much skin as they can get away with, but it's always bugged me for some reason. |

| Jared's S&M gal ![]() | I'm not a big fan of kid actors but it does irk me when I watch a show with a child as one of the characters in one season and then in like the very next season that "child" magically becomes a teenager. Like in The O.C., Kaitlin was like 8 or 9 in season one and then when she came back in season 3 she was freakin' 15. I know it was probably to give her a storyline involving Marissa and all but still...its annoying because the tv shows act like we, the audience, won't notice things like that. I'm also annoyed by actors in their late 20s and early 30s playing teenager roles. I may be going out on a limb here, but I do think there are plenty of teen actors in Hollywood to scrounge up rather than having an adult play a 16 year old. I hate driving scenes. Like when people are in a car holding a conversation and the driver is constantly turning to look at the passenger. I know it's about the dialogue and interaction but all I can think about is the amount of people they'd be mowing over and the cars they'd be crashing into just to get those lines out. Also, when characters are driving along and the background scenery from the window looks like a set being looped....if they pass that same house with the tree next to it one more time, I might just lose my mind.

| To add some: I hate it when they are trying to show that a character is smart/intelligent/good at what he's doing by dumbing everyone else around them unnecessarily down. And I find it also annoying when a character is an expert in everything. Yes, I know it is sometimes necessary in some instances for the story telling and because of having limited characters but sometimes it's over the top. I also don't like it when characters practically get away with everything and never get to have any consequences for their actions. Oh, and on driving: This is a really minor thing which is yet bugging me to no end: When people drive on a relatively straight road and are yet constantly turning the wheel so you'd think they are on the most winding road ever.

| As I'm just rewatching Dark Angel: Logan calling Max a genetically enhancend killing machine. Even when it's true it's not a nice thing to say. He knows that this particular killing machine has feelings, too. I feel it's just not right for Logan's character to call her that. He's such a gentleman and a nice guy, it strikes me as odd. So, generally speaking a pet peeve of mine is characters acting out of character. If that makes sense.
