2/9/08 Most Annoying Character

The problem is that I can't laugh at Susan's one liners, because the actress is so terrible at delivering them [IMO] that I just get frustrated instead of laughing. I don't know if that makes sense... I don't like her because she's cruel. TBH I usually love women villains, but her... I don't know why, I simply can't stand her.... it's most likely the acting.

For example, Ben on Lost. He is probably the most frustrating person ever, because when someone's about to shoot him he drops a bomb on them or makes a very smart remark, and I almost don't want to die now, simply because the actor, Michael Emerson, is probably one of the best actors ever. He plays his role as a villain so extremely well that he's someone that I love to hate. He's so cruel, yet so cool.

Aw Gina, how can you hate Rose and Bernard? They're adorable, plus they're barely on screen.

As for past characters, Marissa was awful. I danced a jig when she died. Sheriff Lamb and Dick on Veronica Mars were also terrible, as was season 3's version of Logan.

Annoying me currently? Everyone on One Tree Hill.

Josh, you have a point with your comparison of Ben and Susan. I hate the Ben character, but it's extremely good acting. Susan I don't hate, but come to think of it I should hate her, because she's sooooooooo evil, but somehow it doesn't come across this way, probably due to not so good acting. That's curious, though, that's the first mistake the PB guys ever made with casting.
In addition I'm wondering why I don't hate T-Bag? I mean he is a horrible guy and he is very well played, why don't I hate him like I hate Ben? Probalby the Southern accent.

Because I think T-Bag is someone who isn't as frustrating as a character... I can't really explain but even though we know T-Bag is quite evil, he doesn't do [much] harm to any of the main cast members so we don't really care about his evilness.

Susan on the other hand killed Sara and is holding LJ hostage. And Ben, he's the leader of the Others. They kidnapped Claire, he didn't let Juliet go home, they kidnapped Alex, they kidnapped Walt, they kidnapped Jack, Kate and Sawyer and so on and so forth...
So they're evil to the main characters.

I like T-Bag, too, though.

I apparently never responded to this, but I have to say, Marissa was soooooo annoying. I wanted to stab her with a spork during both the Oliver incident and the Johnny incident. Plus all the stupid stuff she did inbetween.

She was one of the most annoying characters on TV if you ask me. But thats just my opinion of course.

Marissa definitely ranks up there on my list of annoying characters. Yeah her life was pretty dysfunctional and all but she pissed me off to no end. She always put other guys before Ryan, who was a damn good boyfriend and didn't deserve to ride backseat to Oliver and Johnny. I know she thought she was "helping" them because she thought they "needed" her, but if Marissa wasn't so screwed up she'd have realized she needed to focus on helping herself and being a better girlfriend to Ryan.

Amen to that. She had serious issue that had these guys with serious issues totally locking onto her. And then she would act all surprised when they were insanely in love with her. I hated how she acted whenever another emotionally messed up guy entered her life. It was like, Ryan who? And then she'd get pissed at him. That girl was so freaking annoying.
